2 Little Big Town Members Expecting 1st Child

Country quartet Little Big Town is adding a member.

Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook told The Associated Press they are expecting their first child before performing at the "All for the Hall" Country Music Hall of Fame fundraiser concert Tuesday night.

Asked if the group had anything new to talk about, Kimberly Schlapman pointed at Fairchild's belly and said, "I have something really new."

"We're birthing two things right now," Fairchild said.

"A record and a new baby," Westbrook joked.

The baby's due in March. No release date yet for the new album, though.

The band first made the announcement on its Web site. Westbrook and Fairchild have been married since 2006. Soon everyone in the band will be parents. Schlapman and fourth member Phillip Sweet had children in 2007.

Little Big Town, whose last album was 2007's "A Place To Land," is working on a documentary and is up for vocal group of the year at the Country Music Association awards on Nov. 11.

"We like it challenging," Sweet said.
