(At left, Robert Hendin and Jill Jackson discuss the ads.)
Hot Ads started in 2010 when we were covering the congressional elections that led to Republicans taking back the House of Representatives. This, however, is the first presidential election since the Supreme Court decision that cleared the way for corporations to donate unlimited funds to what are known now as "Super Pacs." There is a lot of money out there going to purchase time to prop up one candidate's message or to try to take down the opposition. That's in addition to the conventional political ads that still manage to cause a sensation (as seen by Rep. Pete Hoekstra's recent Super Bowl advertisement).
In the pages to follow, check out some of the ads that have caught our attention so far this cycle.
