Tran Van Tra
Tra joined the Vietminh during French occupation and became deputy commander of the communist forces in the south, directing attacks with his deputy commander Tran Do against Saigon during the 1968 Tet offensive. His written history of the final offensive in 1975 was banned in reunified Vietnam, and it is believed he was purged for criticizing the Communist Party leadership. Source: |
