But they insisted on working together, and so came to play Ricky Ricardo, the famous Cuban bandleader, and his wife, Lucy, who longed to be in the show. They filmed I Love Lucy in front of a live audience. And they took a pay cut so they could own the shows that they filmed. That was before anyone had ever heard of syndication.
