THE CLUES

Police made a major break in the case in just five days, when video was located reportedly showing four suspects gathered in King's Cross station about 20 minutes before the attacks.

The critical clue came when the mother of one of the suspects - identified in press reports as 19-year-old Hasib Hussain - called police to report him missing after the bombings. The Times newspaper in London said the burned and bloodied clothes of one young man killed on the No. 30 bus matched her son's description. Investigators also noted that the wounds the teenager sustained meant he was close to the bomb, according to the newspaper.

Teams of police and computer specialists were then reportedly told to look for a distinctive-colored top worn by Hussain in the countless hours of surveillance tapes being examined. A revised timeline of when the bombings took place narrowed the search of the footage and helped lead to the find.

Additionally, the suspects' credit cards and IDs were found in the wreckage of three of the four bomb blasts.
