Iraq's interim constitution is a progressive set of laws that borrows from the federalism of Canada, the Islamic laws of Egypt, Britain's parliamentary system and America's Bill of Rights. Signed by the Governing Council on March 8, 2004, the 25-page document is also referred to as the Transitional Administrative Law.
