 Gail Johnson holds the hand of her foster son - young AIDS activist, Nkosi Johnson - in Johannesburg, South Africa. Johnson died the morning of June 1 at a mere 12 years old. Johnson said he died peacefully in his sleep about 5:40 a.m. For weeks Nkosi had been horribly emaciated and reduced almost to a skeleton. He lay bedridden in a semi-coma. His eyelids occasionally fluttered and a feeding tube protruded from his nose.
