Clarence Elkins
Elkins said he had an alibi the night of the murder, and that he had gone to several bars before going home.
His 6-year-old niece said she was absolutely sure that he murdered Judith Johnson. Other witnesses also provided a possible motive, saying Elkins was angry with his mother-in-law for constantly meddling in his rocky marriage.
But there was never one shred of physical evidence linking him to the bloody crime.
