Pitt was born in Shawnee, Okla., Dec. 18, 1963, the son of a high school counselor and a truck company owner. He grew up in Springfield, Mo., where the family moved soon after his birth. Growing up, he was raised as a conservative Southern Baptist, singing in the church choir.
