Stephen Dillane as Thomas Jefferson in the HBO miniseries "John Adams." Dillane was nominated for an Emmy Award for his role in the series. Dillane, born Nov. 30, 1956 in London to an Australian surgeon father and an English mother. He became a journalist after college. Unhappy in his career, he read how actor Trevor Eve gave up architecture for acting and was thus inspired to enter theater school.
