Violence Grips Kenya Photos
Hospital staff run for cover from a tear gas canister thrown by police, outside the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, Kenya, Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008. Police dispersed mobs on the streets of the western towns of Kisumu and Eldoret, firing tear gas at the hospital and beating others standing outside it with clubs, including a doctor. Ten people were injured. It was unclear why the hospital had been targeted.
