Idaho's state Christmas tree glows in purple after Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter and first lady Lori Otter flipped the switch in front of dozens of spectators in downtown Boise, Idaho Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007. The statehouse is undergoing major renovation and the usual donated tree was not put on the statehouse steps. This was the first time ever that a living tree was used as the state's Christmas tree.
