Carl Eller, 66, a former Minnesota Vikings great was jailed Wednesday, April 9, 2008, near Minneapolis, after he allegedly fought with police officers who had stopped him for possible drunken driving. Eller was a member of the famed "Purple People Eaters" in his 15 years as a defensive end with Minnesota from 1964-78.
