Ashlee Simpson, pictured in September 2005, was on the July 2006 cover of Marie Claire magazine. In the story she talked about the importance of being unique. After the nose job controversy, readers and the editor of the magazine were outraged. "We're dazed and confused — and disappointed — by her choice, too!" Editor in Chief Joanna Coles wrote in the magazine.
