Connecticut
Senate - Winner: Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd
Dodd skated past GOP challenger Jack Orchulli. Dodd was running for his fifth term against first-time candidate Orchulli, who made a lot of money in the fashion business with designer Michael Kors. He had lanned to spend at least $1 million of his own money on the race, but running for office in Connecticut is expensive, especially with its proximity to the New York City media market.
House: Connecticut has five House districts. The lineup was three Republicans and two Democrats. All incumbents ran for re-election.
Winners:
District 1 - John Larson, Dem (i)
District 2 - Rob Simmons, GOP (i)
District 3 - Rosa DeLauro, Dem (i)
District 4 - Christopher Shays, GOP (i)
District 5 - Nancy Johnson, GOP (i)
