Senate - Winner: Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln

Lincoln breezed past Republican state Sen. Jim Holt, who called liberal federal judges a bigger threat to the country than terrorists. Lincoln has a storied career. She served two terms in the House from 1992 – 1996 before retiring after she became pregnant with twin boys. Lincoln resurfaced in 1998 when Democratic Sen. Dale Bumpers announced his retirement. She won the open seat with 55 percent of the vote. Lincoln is a moderate Democrat who sits on the Senate Finance and Agriculture committee as well as the Nutrition and Forestry Committee. Holt, 38, is a conservative on fiscal and social matters. House: Arkansas has four House districts. The lineup was three Democrats and one Republican. All four incumbents ran for re-election.
