Having served as the president's personal secretary and also one of his former bodyguards, Hmoud is among the top 10 Iraqis who should go on trial for crimes against humanity, Iraqi opposition figures say. In the 1990s, Hmoud was in charge of several security portfolios, including responsibility over places where Iraq has been accused of hiding weapons.
