Prosthetic Leg Belongs to Missing N.C. Girl

HICKORY, N.C. (CBS/WBTV/AP) Police have confirmed that the prosthetic leg discovered last Wednesday in western North Carolina is the one belonging to 10-year-old Zahra Baker, who has been missing for weeks.
The Hickory Police Department said on Monday that medical records obtained from Australia, where the prosthetic leg was originally fitted, matched the serial number on the leg.

The 18-year-old, of Plainfield, was last seen on Thursday. Keller had told friends that she was planning to go for a walk near the Junction Center shopping mall on West Lincoln Highway to take photographs.

HICKORY, N.C. (CBS/AP) Police in Hickory, N.C. are still searching for Zahra Baker, the missing hearing-impaired North Carolina girl, and have reportedly reached out to the 10-year-old's biological mother in Australia to request Zahra's medical records.
Police have not said whether a body has been found but have said they believe Zahra, described as sweet and cheerful despite her health problems, is dead.

Lok reportedly took his school bus home as usual and was dropped off in front of his North Portland home at about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday. He was not reported missing until 5 p.m.

BURKE COUNTY, N.C (CBS/WBTV) Elisa Baker, the stepmother who police are calling a person of interest in the disappearance of North Carolina girl Zahra Claire Baker, appeared in court Wednesday morning while police continue searching for the girl.
The 42-year-old made her initial court appearance Wednesday morning on charges she wrote a fake ransom note to throw off detectives investigating her stepdaughter's disappearance.

HICKORY, N.C. (CBS/AP) Elisa Baker, the stepmother of missing North Carolina girl Zahra Baker, is due in court Wednesday morning, charged with obstruction of justice after admitting that she wrote the misleading ransom note found at the scene, according to police.
Police say that, during questioning Tuesday, Elisa Baker confessed to writing the note in order to throw off detectives investigating her stepdaughter's disappearance.
