Ex-Husband Charged In Missing Ind. Woman's Death

SCOTTSBURG, Ind. (CBS/WLKY) Murder charges were filed in the Scott County Circuit Court Wednesday against Robert Petty in the death of his ex-wife Nina Keown.
Keown was reported missing in early August. Her remains were recovered in Clark County, in southeastern Indiana on Aug. 27.

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CBS/AP) It appears that Rutgers University freshman Tyler Clementi tried to get school officials to change his dorm room before he leaped to his death from the George Washington Bridge.
The 18-year-old violinist from Ridgewood, N.J. killed himself after, police say, he learned that his roommate had secretly streamed video on the Internet of him in a sexual encounter with another man.

CLAWSON, Mich. (CBS/AP) Maybe this wasn't the best possible choice of a designated driver.
Police in Clawson, Mich. said a 40-year-old man who drove an intoxicated woman to the police station is now facing drunk-driving charges himself.
Donald Chamberlain drove his 35-year-old neighbor to the station Monday so she could answer questions about an assault involving her husband the previous day.

PHOENIX (CBS/AP) A Phoenix jail inmate was left wearing nothing but pink socks after scaling five fences in an escape attempt before he was captured.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says 24-year-old Clayton Thornburg suffered cuts on some parts of his body since some of the Durango Jail's fences are 15 feet high, and topped with razor wire.

David Sicotte, of Three Forks (and One Wrench?), appeared in District Court on Wednesday on charges of felony assault with a weapon, and disorderly conduct.

However, she won't be facing charges for a 1993 mail bomb incident in Boston, federal prosecutors announced Thursday.

PERUGIA, Italy (CBS) Arguments in the slander trial against Amanda Knox, the American exchange student convicted of murdering her British roommate in Perugia, Italy, have been scheduled for Nov. 8 by an Italian judge.
The slander case is based on statements Knox made about her Nov. 2007 interrogation as a possible witness after the discovery of the body of her housemate, Briton Meredith Kercher.
