Carrie Prejean Video: Did Miss California Lawsuit Implode Because of Sex Tape?

LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) Did the legal battle between former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean and pageant organizers suddenly conclude because organizers presented Prejean with a sex tape starring the religiously devout beauty queen?

Celebrity site TMZ says yes and CNN, last night, said a source with knowledge of the settlement confirmed it. Crimesider has no independent verification of the story at this time.

In August, Prejean sued Miss California USA organizers for libel, slander and religious discrimination. She accused them of telling her to stop mentioning God, even before she made controversial remarks against gay marriage.

Prejean was fired in June after pageant officials accused her of missing events, an allegation that she denied.

The pageant countersued Prejean last month, claiming the buxom blonde still owed them $5,200 for the breast implants they helped her buy.

The dueling lawsuits had the making of a showdown at the ok corral in a string bikini but the warring factions abruptly made peace on Tuesday.

A joint statement released yesterday says Prejean and pageant organizers reached a confidential settlement on both legal fronts and both parties "wish each other the best in their future endeavors."

As for that alleged sex tape reportedly starring Prejean, if TMZ had the tape months ago, as the site claims, why didn't they post it online or on air? TMZ Managing Editor Harvey Levin claimed in a Wednesday webcast that the tape, which he said features just Prejean, was too graphic for their taste.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? Does Carrie Prejean really have a sex tape?

If I ignore the usual arbitrary name-calling in this column, it doesn't leave much. When you don't bother with thinking, it's easy to throw words like "bimbo" and "airhead," and some nastier stuff, around. I guess it makes you feel better. And there is lots of video of her around the net; I've never seen this "pomposity" they speak of. Maybe someone can point me to some.

But enough of that.

She said she believes marriage is for heterosexual couples--just like Barack Obama did during his campaign. Unike her, Obama explicitly cited his Christian faith as the basis for his opinion. His Secretary of State, that radical right-winger Hillary Clinton, has also come out in that position.

Where is the indignation against our president's statement, or Hillary's? The silence is deafening.

What's wrong with a sex tape, per se? If there's a moral problem with this, it's more to do with her sexual relationship with a man she's not married to, which Christian dogma frowns on. If they're having sex, the tape is just an extra kink. It's not the problem. And there is a rather small fringe who believes that relationships such as hers are not sinful at all. Without necessarily buying into their whole package, if one is Christian, one is wise to at least hear them out. They have quite a few very good points to make.

It's hardly a secret that very few people, beyond early adulthood, anyway, are still virginal, and that statistic includes religious people, including Christians. I see no opprobrium in this forum against that. So why against Carrie Prejean?

If God disapproves, that's nobody's business but hers and His. If you don't believe it God, well then, whose laws was she breaking anyway? It's moot.

Be honest with yourselves, people. She holds an opinion you don't like, and said so. She did nothing to try to shove it at anyone.

Carrie Prejean did not say ONE WORD of attack against anybody.

Perez Hilton, on the other hand, spouted his vitriolic diatribe in a direct, malicious, mean-spirited personal assault against her, using language that, were I to quote it here, would probably get this message yanked.

And you say that SHE is the one pushing an agenda? She is the "hateful" one? Show me anything she said that shows any real hatred. And then, show me anything Perez Hilton said that doesn't.

At one time, anyone expressing an opinion not in line with certain community standards, largely based on religious orthodoxy, was vilified, if not arrested. We should have gotten past that by now. Instead, now the bigotry, instead of dying, has simply switched sides.

It's got to stop, and taking a hard look inside your hearts to find your REAL objections to Carrie Prejean is a good place to start.

I see every right-wing, christian, i'm-perfect-how-about-you windbag is coming to her defense claiming that Ms. Pristine Prejean is the victim of a witch hunt. They'll be quick to claim she is doing something on the tape which almost everyone does and that does not make her some tramp. Of course the quick answer to those windbags should be, a) You (the right wing) will always be the witch hunters and not the witch huntees, so please don't try to play victim here; b) Yes, she is doing something that almost everyone does, and there is nothing wrong with it, and it doesn't make her a tramp. That's what everyone else has been trying to tell you for centuries. Throughout history it has been 'you people' that have promoted the idea that satisfying sexual needs is a sin worthy of societal scorn, ridicule, torture, and in many cases execution. You have made sex a deviant behavior, whether it be heterosexual, homosexual, interracial, masturbation, oral, or any other kind of sex outside the framework you constructed (but rarely adhere to). It's unfortunate that, after all these centuries, and all the carnage, you still don't see, or rather, won't acknowledge, that 99% of the population has consensual sexual needs that will be met. No matter how much you try to pray it away (priest and evangelicals), or how perfect, pious, and virginal you try to portray yourself or your family (Prejean, Sarah Palin), you are human, and humans are sexual. It's normal, so stop trying to make it everything but. And I reiterate, you don't get to set the rules on sexuality. Sex between consenting human beings, is none of your business. Time, place, sexual position, and choice of partners will not be determined by you bigots. So Prejean, set up your camera and masturbate away. Your god gave you that body (except those big, laughably fake boobs you have. I guess your god must have forgotten those), so use it as you please. The only one looking down on you is you.....and 'your people'...oh, and your god...and the rest of the world once that tape comes out. Advice for the future--don't let the conservatives prop you up as their savior. Just stop tying to play Ms. Perfect, and no one will demean you when they find out you're not. No one is. Get it?

One of the mystery still unsolved is "where the heck did the lawyers obtained the tape". Prejean herself isn't that dumb to hand it over to them..=) Apparently, The Donald got the last laugh of this story. Money once again wins!

When these hypocrites decide to jump up on that pedestal and pretend that they have "Family Values" they deserve exactly what this one is getting.
It is not her actions that are so offensive it is her pompousity and dishonesty.

Remember how Dr. James Dobson and Focus on the Family supported her? Now comes the tape, and the fun begins...read the unbelievable details here: http://wp.me/pChUJ-5C I think I know why Dobson's retiring now.

Awesome. She's a role model for all good Christian women who want to practice safe sex. Self-exploration is a good thing. Now, when she gets married and she loses her virginity, she'll be able to explain to her virgin husband how to please her. Excellent!! It should be required watching for all young women.

I think it is directed more at young men.

What a surprise. Another little holier than thou right winger involved in a sex tape scandal. This is more funny than sexy. How do the wingers produce such hypocrites as Ms. Prejean?

I love it. Don't forget Mark Sanford was another Right Winger who got caught dipping his wick. And how about that other religious icon Ted Haggert. Or my favorite Jimmy Swaggert, got caught with his pants down in a motel room with a prostitute and claimed he never touched her.
Then he went on TV and did the best crocodile tears routine I have ever seen.
I almost sent him some money!
