What ever happened to the US? I remember when hard work and success were considered as positive goals and were lauded by our government. The successful were lauded as the backbone of the country and the salt of the earth. Now working hard and accumulating wealth is viewed as negative (the tax the undeserving wealthy mantra of our current administration). Now the lazy and are "unfortunate" and have a right to be given healthcare and food. They are honored as the salt of the earth, the backbone of our nation. I always thought being unfortunate meant something happened that was out of their control; and injury or a handicap. Now it means they elected not to study in school or learn a trade but shouldn't pay the price for it.

I did not have an issue with the President's performance, but the reporters were God Awful. I mean who are these wimps. Chuck Todd, how many fires has he covered, how many courtrooms and police stations has he been in? Major Garret, Chip Reid, these people are pygmies. Why doesn't CBS send Bob Schieffer back to the White House to turn the heat up a least a little bit.

Actually, we were doing fine economically until Democrats took control of Congress in 2006. Repeating a thing over and over does not make it fact.

Youi are right. I was looking on my investments in my Quicken file and when the democrats took over congress I was in good shape. Then the value started going down and when Obama was elected in November they started falling fast and now I'm around 50% loss. I talk to a lot of brokers and they all agree that Obama's election started a big fall. You can say what you with but you will never change most people's mind.

Right. So quit repeating it.

Bush and the GOP raped our economy and picked our pockets with warmed over trickle down and obscene rewards for inept and corrupt politicians and business leaders.

If there's any justice, there will be trials for all concerned.

Meantime, thank God the adults are back in charge.

When the Republicans got beat in the 2006 elections, it was pedal to the metal looting. The price of oil shot up and the mortgage mess was about to explode.

The slim margin the Democrats had after 2006 could not stop the spending that Bush did. When you do not have 60% of the majority, you can not bring amendments to a vote on the floor.

The real period to look at is the 2003-2007 time frame when Republicans ran all three branches of government. This is when you had massive rubber stamping of anything and everything Bush wanted. This is when the real damage was done.

If only W had used a teleprompter maybe we wouldn't have so much material to use against him. But when it comes to the press conference, Obama rocked. Explained his way forward, what his outlook and goal is for this country. I think of my kids and what policy they would want me to support. The policy of the status quo, do as little as possible and head down the same tired, deadend road we're on now. Or would they be happy paying for a bright, better and progressive future for this country when it comes to energy, healthcare and education. There is no choice which road they'd want me to take. And it's Obama's.

This report told me nothing. The conference told me nothing. The Bear is coming and nothing is said.

I can remember when CNN was a good news source. Maybe that was before the last corporate take over.

I think you are right on the mark.

The corporate FOX is minding the media henhouse.
