Obama To Rangel: Give Up The Mic

(AP/Lauren Victoria Burke)
A funny moment in the question and answer period with President Obama at the White House health care forum today: After House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel spoke, the president asked if his Republican counterpart was in the room.

The man in question – Michigan Rep. Dave Camp, the committee’s top Republican – was indeed present. But instead of handing him the microphone, Rangel started speaking again. That prompted the president to cut him off with this quip: “Well what I meant, Charlie, was let’s give him the mic.”

The comment prompted a roar of laughter from those in the room, and this joke from Camp when he was handed the microphone: “It is tough in the minority, let me tell you.”
