Day 21: Obama Back On The Trail

On his twenty-first day in office, President Obama took his stimulus argument on the road, stopping in hard-hit Elkhart, Indiana to convince residents that the legislation was essential to getting America's economy back on track.

“I promised you back [when I was running for office] that if elected president, I would do everything I could to help this community recover. And that’s why I’ve come back today – to tell you how I intend to keep that promise,” he said.

The president also scheduled a prime-time press conference to sell the country on the bill, which cleared an important hurdle in the Senate in the afternoon. (UPDATE: Here's the full transcript of the press conference.)

Below, watch CBS Evening News reporting on the president's day.
