Obama To Meet With Mexican President, Announce Intelligence Picks

(CBS)
President-elect Obama will meet with Mexican President Felipe Calderone on Monday, Maria Gavrilovic reports.

Though he has spoken frequently about the economy since winning the election and laid out his ambitious economic agenda in a speech today, Mr. Obama has had far less to say about foreign affairs, stressing that there is only one president at a time.

The meeting with Calderone is the first with a foreign leader on Mr. Obama's schedule since winning the election in November.

"There is a long-standing tradition, since 1980, of U.S. presidents meeting with the Mexican president prior to being sworn in to underscore the important relationship between the United States and Mexico," a Democratic official said. "This meeting is in keeping with that tradition."

Gavrilovic also reports that Mr. Obama will formally unveil his choices of Leon Panetta as CIA director and Dennis Blair as Director of National Intelligence at a press conference on Friday.

Maybe he''s going to offer to create 20 million green illegal alien jobs so they don''t have to go home and will vote for him next election.

The thing in my mind, first off is to Reclassify the Drug Gangs as terror groups, this will do allot in the form of taking assets of the
front companies internationally, not just locally,
second of all, bring back the death penalty for kidnappers,
and third, do something with the
U.S. Drug addicts purchasing into the violence.

President-elect Obama shouldn''t promise anything to Calderon. Obama must remember that Calderon belongs to the far-right Panista Party of Mexico, which by the way, includes the few Mexicans who actually favored McCain in the election---the Panistas are very nationalistic and never call Americans, Americans (they always call us either gringos or "estadounidenses"---an awfully sounding term in Spanish. Since the Mexican government does little do help the many American tourists and residents in Mexico who are often subject to robbery, corruption, and crooked business dealings--who always pay the "gringo" price for anything, Obama should not promise anything to help Mexicans illegally in our country. Mexico itself has one of the worst records internationally when it comes to treating foreigners,

If we could only have a "fly on the wall" in this room with those two!!!! We might learn just what our future holds for all of us......Calderone will want to know what he has to do to keep getting his DEA money, how fast is the SUPERHIGHWAY project going to get built.....AND Obama will want to know just how many more "illegals" will be coming to help all the rich corporate buddies get richer.

Our country does not need all the exhaust fumes the truckers will expel while transporting China''s junk from Mexico ports up to Canada via central US states. Stop it now!!!!!! Not a good idea at all.

Well, maybe he needs to tell him to improve conditions in his own country for his own people and quit expecting them to pour over the border and then send money home, get free health care compliments of the American people, etc.

If I were Obama, I''d tell Calderone to expect a large shipment of locals from the US Border Protection Service and to expect a wall along the US southern border that would make the Great Wall of China look like a picket fence. Finally, anyone caught with drugs trying to smuggle across to the US will be tried and executed within 30 minutes of capture.

But thats just me.
