N.Y. Republicans Slam Caroline Kennedy
As the daughter of Camelot bids for Hillary Clinton's Senate seat, New York Republicans launched a full-out attack on the potential appointee on CBS' Face The Nation this morning.
"We've seen the Senate sort of become a House of Lords," Rep. Tom Reynolds, R-N.Y., former chairman of the NRCC, told Bob Schieffer. "We are seeing a seat-warmer in Delaware, a seat-seller in Illinois, and we are making seat cushions in New York for sort of an aristocrat, royalty and entitlement coming in here."
Reynolds also noted that during her last visit to blue-collar Buffalo, Kennedy arrived in a foreign SUV and left in a Jeep.
Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., who has publicly made clear his intention to run for Clinton's seat in 2010, said that in New York "the last thing we need is a People Magazine celebrity as our United States Senator, especially someone who has no experience, as far as I know, has never held a real job and now it's come out she hasn't voted."
King warned that if Kennedy wins the nod from Gov. David Paterson over other prospects, including several sitting Congressmen and women, "there is going to be magnifying glass on her," and "the Republican candidate in 2010 will have a better opportunity against Caroline Kennedy than against the others."
Though admitting she is an attractive candidate, even N.Y. Democrat Rep. Gary Ackerman was guarded about Kennedy: "DNA can only take you so far in the business," he said.

Once Obama takes office Biden should resign and Obama should nominate her to be the next VP. Once she is confirmed Obama should go back to Chicago and the lovely Caroline will be our president!
Does anybody care what any reich wing nutjob thinks?
After ruining this country, no one cares what they say.
On the bright side, they just ensure the continued demise of their Clown Party.....

That is a glarting contridiction in ligic.
If republicans truly would have a better chance against Caroline Kennedy in 2010 they should NOT be discouraging her appointment.
Gov. Paterson will appoint whoever he believes can do NY the most good. And that is the way it should be. If it is Caroline, then more power to him and her.
If Republicans could govern competently, they''d still be in power.
Instead they''re just eating sour grapes.
Amen !!!! That''s what we''ve all been thinking all along !!!
And, of course the Republicans are slamming her - that''s the only thing they are good at: slamming other people...... because they have absolutely nothing worthy of offering to the people themselves.
If it''s Caroline Kennedy, so be it.
The top four delinquents in Congressional voting are all Republicans.. The top one, Norwood from Georgia, has missed more than 90% of the votes.. who the hell elected that jerk..??
The four Congresspeople that have not missed a single vote are three Democrats and one Republican... just goes to show you who takes their ELECTED positions seriously...
Republicans aren''t worth ***...

** I would rather have Obama as president and have him not vote on anything... rather than amnesty mccain... that when amnesty mccain wants to try and do his job... he tries passing amnesty for over 20 million illegal immigrants... why doesn''t he pass a bill that will give help to over 20 million LEGAL CITIZENS!! just goes to show that amnesty mccain and the republicans only care about their very wealthy buddies... and illegal foreigners!
"Shouldn''t voter have to pass an intelligence test?"
reply, "You don''t have to be intelligent to vote!"
reply, "What if there are more stipid people than intelligent people??"
reply,,"Then the Democrat wins!!"

*** So you really want over 20 million illegals getting amnesty and taking our jobs? Why do you so blindly support republicans that only care about rich people and illegal immigrants?

** I''d rather have someone with no substance... rather than someone that supports oil companies or the walmart executives the way the evil republicans have lately!
and the republicans want to mock the democrats about having another kennedy in washington? so what royal family is the kennedy''''s related to? NONE! The republicans just can''''t stand the fact that us working class people like the Kennedy''''s because they support working class people... and not oil companies and walmart executives!

Not mocking at all. We just think you should get to vote for your choices. But when you cant do that, they chould choose someone who you voted for in the past. Or, maybe someone who has done somethign like that job in the past. Or maybe someone like the person who held the job recently. But at all costs, not another rich elite who has more money than a even a CEO and has no philanthropic ties.
Have you noticed that the Democrat leaders are all rich and SAY they are for the working class? Its because they need well mannered servants.

- So a democrat running for president and spending most of his time on the campaign trail, is expected to vote MORE than people that are supposed to be working in Washington?

Actually, the statistics I was quoting were from before his campaign. Back when he was part of Blagojovichs campaign and Rev Wrights flock. And my goal was nto to start this whole debate again. It was to point out to another poster that the statistics about how often a person votes were hardly relevent to the argument.
