Palin Stumps For Chambliss In Georgia

Alaska governor and former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is in Georgia today, where she is appearing at four events in an effort to get out the Republican base in support of Sen. Saxby Chambliss.

Georgia voters will go to the polls tomorrow for a runoff election between Chambliss and Democratic rival Jim Martin, a vote that could help decide whether Democrats achieve a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. (Democrats now effectively hold 58 seats; if Martin and Minnesota Democrat Al Franken find their way to victory, they will have the necessary 60.)

Palin has already appeared in Augusta this morning, where she was greeted by several thousand supporters, according to the Associated Press, which notes that "Vendors sold bright pink 'Palin 2012' T-shirts and 'Palin for President: You Go Girl' buttons. She was greeted like a rock star with chants of 'Sa-rah!'"

Palin implored the crowd to return Chambliss to the Senate, adding that the runoff election would mark the first event in the Republican Party's rehabilitation.

"It takes rebuilding and I say let that begin here in Georgia tomorrow," Palin said.

Martin, meanwhile, is campaigning today with Rep. John Lewis and Atlanta rapper Ludacris. President-elect Barack Obama has recorded a radio ad and phone calls for Martin, but he has not campaigned for the Georgia Democrat.

daffy64: I assure you I am real and not a character that anyone created except the Lord and my mother and father! I just like to gloat and rub it in when I''m right and I was RIGHT about this! And I do talk like that and the only ones that I was making fun of are the people who voted for Chambliss''s opponent and for Obama and Biden in the November election. I think in a few months they''ll wish that they had never even heard of Barack Obama and will regret voting for him and I''ll have a chance to say "I TOLD YOU SO" again!

This is to all you Sarah Palin haters who said she would cause Chambliss to lose the election: Listen closely. Do you hear a large 5''''10" Southern woman laughing at you? YOU WERE WRONG! I KNEW SHE WOULD HELP HIM AND I SAID SO! I TOLD YOU SO! I TOLD YOU SO! I - TOLD - YOU - SO! I have lived in the south all of my life! I know my southern people!

This IS funny. But I know somebody just made up this "carlyonsue" character to make fun of dumb people. Nobody really talks like that.

I got Senator Chambliss''s name wrong in my other message. It''s Saxby not Bagby.

Nobody can put a campaign on ice like Sarah Palin. There''s no faster way to the unemployment line than a Palin endorsement.

Sarah betcha WHO is like one of those circus animals that you feel the need to bring your children(who doesnt know better) to watch when the circus comes into town. Once you have seen it, you ask yourself - what on earth was the fuss ? it is just another trained animal performing for the audience. Can the circus animal perform without being trained to memorise the sequence of events ? Can the circus animal perform new tricks by using its brains ? Can the circus animal perform without the fake applause and clapping ?

The excitement around Sarah Palin is good to see. It proves that moderate republicans lost big in the last election, while conservative Americans are alive and well.

Please keep believing that!

I think all of you Sarah Palin haters are wrong! Did you see the news coverage of the rallies that she attended yesterday? She got a bigger applause than Chambliss!I think she is going to help him, not hurt him! Remember this is Georgia that we''re talking about! It is just about the deepest part of the deep South! It is a red Republican state and just about as conservative as you can get! Also there are a lot of Christians and rednecks and hunters and country people in Georgia who relate to Sarah Palin and believe the same way that she does. I don''t live in Georgia but I believe the same way that she does too! Go Sarah!

I think to the majority of us that voted for Obama, Palin''s core beliefs are just too narrow to fit comfortably with an entire nation. She got the ultra conservative base excited because of those core beliefs; but, she obviously was not able to influence many over that base. That''s why her popularity began to tumble as more and more was found out about her. None of us on this earth can interpret exactly what God wants of us. The closest we can get is for each of us to try to be the best people we can be, mind our own house, and not judge anyone else for beliefs we do not agree with or understand. We will all stand before God someday and answer to him directly. He should be our only judge not someone who thinks they know how he would judge us.

What''s the difference between a hockey mom and a bulldog? Georgians can route for a bulldog. (And they even win sometimes)....
