Palin Says She Wants To Talk About Issues, Adds That Obama Pals With A Terrorist

(CBS)
From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

(CARSON, Calif.) At a rare October rally in this solidly blue state, Sarah Palin alluded to her recent interview with CBS News’ Katie Couric, calling it “not too successful” and adding that Couric asked her questions that made her think, ‘C’mon, let’s start talking to the American people about the issues you guys want to know about.’”

Palin said that if she had her druthers, she would have rather told Couric about her plans for reform, putting government on the side of the people, and winning the wars. Then she promptly transitioned into attacking Barack Obama for his relationship with William Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground movement in the 1960s. Palin mentioned a story about the relationship that appeared in Saturday’s New York Times, which the Obama campaign says actually showed the relationship between Obama and Ayers added up to far less than a friendship.

“Our opponent is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who target their own country,” Palin said.

The Republican VP nominee also hit Obama for saying he’d cut taxes for 95 percent of Americans, calling the Democrat’s vow “the phoniest claim in a campaign that has been full of them.”

Palin regaled the cheering crowd with a story about how she was reading her Starbucks mocha cup yesterday, which featured a quotation from former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.

“Now she said it, I didn’t,” Palin said of Albright. “She said, ‘There’s a place in Hell reserved for women who don’t support other women.’”

The crowd roared its approval, but according to several sources, Albright actually said, “there’s a place in Hell reserved for women who don’t help other women.”

“OK, now thank you so much for receiving that well—I didn’t know how that was going to go over,” Palin told the southern California crowd. “And now California, let’s see what a comment that I just made how that is turned into whatever it’ll be turned into tomorrow in the newspaper.”

What in the world would Palin have to offer on the issues? She had her chance at the debate and made a fool of herself! Now she''s got two more weeks of cramming and she''s gonna enlighten the world?
She should stick to mudslinging, we score bigger points that way.
Sarah please shut up and go away.

WHAT THE HELL WAS McCAIN THINKING WHEN HE SELECTED FOLKSY, "DOWN ALASKAN," UNIFORMED HOCKEY MOM SARAH PALIN? THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT HE IS ERRATIC, VISCERAL AND HAS DISPLAYED POOR JUDGMENT IN HIS ABILITY TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY! MY HUSBAND, TOO, HAS CROSSED THE AISLE DUE TO HIS SELECTION OF VP!

Is this Palin''s attempt to bully other women into voting for her? Is it helpful to force one''s teenage daughter into a marriage with someone who doesn''t want children simply because she is pregnant? Is it helpful to counsel women who become pregnant as a result of rape to give birth to the child? Welcome to hell, Sarah.

I was on the fence until McCain picked Palin. She%u2019s is an embarrassment to our nation and speaks loudly of McCain%u2019s first critical decision as the potential leader of the free world. Style (which is questionable...) over substance? When you can''t answer basic questions, then say it''s the interviewers fault, you are NOT putting country FIRST, only yourself as evidenced during the up debate. IT''S ALL ABOUT SARAH, which is HARAS (add your own R) backwards... which is the only thing she and McCain can do now since they can''t score on the ISSUES!

Will people vote for John McCain when they find out that John McCain the "terrorist fighter" is really John McCain "the terrorist friend". John McCain recently welcomed, hugged, praised and walked hand in hand with a person with strong ties to terrorism. Just check out this site:

Palin''s vitriol and sarcasm are disturbing. More so, when you consider she can''t answer any direct question that she hasn''t rehearsed. To believe her rants his irresponsible. She''s nothing more than a news reader.

My husband,a Republican always admired John McCain...until recently when he made Palin his choice for VP.
I have to congratulate you Sara Palin...YOU have done what I could not accomplish in 20 years of marriage. My husband will vote for Obama! Thank you so much John McCain!

To quote a friend of mine, "Sara Palin is like a wedding cake in a bakery shop window. Beautifully decorated with frosting...until you cut into it...no cake, it''s nothing but cardboard".

I wish Palin was substantive, brilliant and a symbol of my gender that I could admire. McCain, between the two of you...YOU HAVE INSULTED THE WOMEN OF AMERICA

Palin''s proving to be a very political creature-blaming everyone else and attacking what she barely understands. She has no credible record to run on and every thing she says and does leaves more questions than answers. I think she is burning all her bridges back to nowhere.

Holy Moses! She used a synonym instead of getting the quote exactly right? Oh My Gosh!!!!

However, great job on the headline. I''m absolutely positive that CBS would write a similar headline about BHO, right after they quizzed him on his long series of lies:

peekURL.com/zip4lvg

The bottom line is the CBS "News" is nothing more than an arm of the BHO campaign.

Sarah may move the base, but the rest of us find her completely, mindlessly annoying. I think the McCain camp is making a big mistake trying to have her be a cute fluffy bunny on one hand and a vicious attack weasel on the other.

AFA the Weathermen, I was there in the sixties--they were a bunch of losers and a joke then, and they''re even sillier now. Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist. Ayers was a stoner with an attitude. They made some threats, blew up a building with nobody in it and ran away. I''m so scared.

I guess it is true that "desperate people do desperate things. I guess it is true that "desperate people do desperate things. In the interview with Couric, she was asked several times what she meant by going after terrorist in Pakistan and McCain jumped in not allowing Palin to talk. If he won%u2019t let his own running mate speak, what chance do you have of your voice being heard?

Palin is an embrassment. I wish she would spend more time with her cue-cards than name- calling. Because her Past, does Not look that Great. She does not have a Clue, of what she is doing.

One thing that should be brought up in this character assassination attempt on Obama is Palin''s total ignorance on the subject.

Just because Palin has never had the experience of learning anything about American History, it might behoove her to read about the domestic issues in the United States during the last phases of the VietNam Conflict. Although John McCain should know that history he is just so president-struck that nothing can get in his way ~ not the truth or anything else.
McCain is literally selling his soul to the devil with the name of Harold Simmons. Our hope is that the country does not get sold along with him.
