McCain Ad Says Clinton Was “Passed Over”

In a not-so-subtle attempt to remind Democratic supporters of Hillary Clinton that she didn’t get the vice presidential slot on the party's ticket, John McCain’s campaign is up with a new ad called “Passed Over,” featuring some Clinton quotes attacking Barack Obama from during the primaries.

“She won millions of votes,” an announcer starts, “but isn’t on his ticket. Why? For speaking the truth. On his plans.”

Clinton: “You never hear the specifics.”

Announcer: “On the Rezko scandal.”

Clinton: “We still don’t have a lot of answers about Senator Obama.”

Announcer: “On his attacks.”

Clinton: “Senator Obama’s campaign has become increasingly negative.”

Announcer: “The truth hurt. And Obama didn’t like it.”

Watch it:

Hillary Clinton responded to the ad in a statement, saying, "Hillary Clinton's support of Barack Obama is clear. She has said repeatedly that Barack Obama and she share a commitment to changing the direction of the country, getting us out of Iraq, and expanding access to health care. John McCain doesn't. It's interesting how those remarks didn't make it into his ad."

McCain playing the High School Drama Queen. Impuning the motives of his opponents. Obscuring the issues. Anyone who votes for this dinosaur deserves foreclosure.

Notice how McCain ads always use distorted words from others to smear his opponents? That''s because he''s unable to voice his OWN opinons, they change to frequently to be placed in an ad. By the time the ad ran on TV, McCain may have reversed his stand again. At last count he has flip-flopped over 70 times this last year. keep up the usual neo-con campaign of "smear and fear" McBush, it''s what we expect of you.

McCain is clearly a Bush 3rd term of a hyperinflation, a deeper housing depression, and more needless Military pork.

John Sydney McCain III needs a 9-car motorcade to run down to Starbucks for a coffee and has the balls to claim he knows what was in the mind of Barack Obama. What was in his mind when he decided that one of his servants using the $4000 latte machine couldn''t properly make a coffee so the motorcade had to be fire up? Out of touch? I''ll say.

Mcsenile forgot that he promised us a dignified campaign.

He''s hoping that Hillary supporters will forget every issue she ran on.

How dare John McCain play the role of the "cheesy lover" trying to steal women from their wedded vows to the Democrat party because of a little disappointment.!

Interesting - Obama is now complaining that McCain is running a negative campaign, and yet Barack couldn''t even wait until he was facing a Republican to do the same - per his OWN ''supporter'' Hillary.

Dems, the party that lies together, stays together.

The boys in the Dem party once again confirmed their fear, intimidation and contempt for intelligent, self-assured, strong, qualified, and experienced women as both nominee and running mate. Make no mistake, Barack and Biden are male chauvinist pigs. Biden garnered less than 10k votes, while Hillary approximately 18m. Michelle is just as much at fault as her weak husband. Anyone who can''t accept either of the Clintons are nothing more than fools and neanderthals. The Dems won''t win the election and they can blame the boys and those bent on using the presidency as an exercise in affirmative action. Wasn''t it sweet for Obama to have campaigned on the "I didn''t vote for Iraq" and being against Hillary for voting for it, goes and has as his running mate someone one did vote for the war? Wasn''t it sweet for Obama to have droned on and on about change, and then he gets as his running mate a near-lifer pol from DC? Wasn''t it sweet that Obama introduced Biden as the next president? Hmmm, I guess Obama and Biden, if elected, will be mirroring the Bush-Cheney administration. All you fools that voted for Obama have been lied to and taken for a major ride. How does it feel now to have been lied to by your great-pretender? You''re getting exactly what you deserve

Obama has so much material to fire back at McCain from disgruntled callers on these junkyard talk shows who hate McCain for beating Plastic Man Mitt Romney to the talk show hosts themselves.

I don''t think it was wise for McCain to go down this road.

More straight talk out of both sides of his mouth from McCain. Hillary was passed over but Biden was a wise choice.

Is that like I''m pro life but support a woman''s right to choose? I wa against the Bush tax cuts before I was for them?

John McCain...toss out any trial balloon and see what sticks.

Ninety percent of the vote is firmly split between Democrats and Republicans. The other ten pecent won''t make their decision based on TV ads. They are a waste of money and time.

Of course she was passed over. Obama texted his disciples at 3:00, an obvious dig at the 3:00 phone call ad that Hillary used during her campaign. By doing that, Obama (the uniter) saw to it that quite a few Hillary supporters, won''t support him.

Thanks for sharing that story - that makes me feel a lot better :)

It''s amazing how many people have similar stories to share because they''re never the people who make waves on these boards - they''re just sharing their opinions.

PS I thought your comment was right on point, even if it doesn''t get to stay much longer :)

Anyway, my original point was that for McCain to bring up Dem dischord in the hopes of poaching voters is liable to backfire if it has any effect whatsoever because it implies that women vote on emotion and can be duped. Because remember what he called his wife.

I think unification is a two-way street, but with Hillary supporters being the king-makers in this election the blame lies with Barack if he hasn''t been able to unify the party to the extent that lack of unity is still a concern.

If he had at least made some efforts which Hillary was then seen as rebuffing, he''d be off the hook and Hillary would probably be pressured into returning the favor. Now if he loses, nobody''s going to be blaming Hillary - people are going to blame Barack for not picking her as his running mate (barring some unforseen intervening superceding cause) imo

It wasn''t Obama who couldn''t handle the truth. Bubba still doesn''t want the identities of the foreign contributors to his Presidential Library to see the light of day so Hillary demanded that Obama not vet her unless he could promise that he would pick her.

"In Britain, 69% say they believe US policy has made the world less safe since 2001...62% of Canadians and 57% of Mexicans say the world is more dangerous because of US policy. Only one in four Israeli voters say that Bush has made the world safer. Voters in three of the four countries also reject the decision to invade Iraq. In Britain 71% of voters now say the invasion was unjustified, a view shared by 89% of Mexicans and 73% of Canadians. Neither do voters think America has helped advance democracy in developing countries, one of the justifications for deposing Saddam Hussein. Only 11% of Britons and 28% of Israelis think that has happened. As a result, Mr Bush is ranked with some of his bitterest enemies as a cause of global anxiety. He is outranked by Osama bin Laden in all four countries, but runs the al-Qaida leader close in the eyes of UK voters: 87% think the al-Qaida leader is a great or moderate danger to peace, compared with 75% who think this of Mr Bush." Bottom line: at least Obama/Biden don''t carry the weight of the Republican brand, as does McCain.

Although now that I think about it the only two people I''ve ever heard say that their names got banned were ''donnie'' (who can''t help himself) and ''peloisaho'' (who''s so angry!) . . . still kind of scary though when you don''t know what the standards are and you''re trying to play by the rules :(

Oh well . . .

You''re exactly right....

this is the story that the "bitter Hillary clingers" chooses to ignore.

There''s plenty of evidence in his comments that he wanted to pick her but how much backstabbin can one take, from planned demonstrations to demanding her name be put in nomination at risk of embarrassment.

If he loses, it won''t be his fault, that''s clear.

OB did what he had to do. With HRC running around the whitehouse she would alway be in his face trrying to run the country in her own immage. OB does not need that and being a first lady does not make her world class material to run a nation. I need to point out she is a junior senator from NY with no world experience unless you call having tea with the queen world class. She got dragged alon with Bill all over the place but you never saw her beyond the photo ops at the airport. Get over her she is finished.

McCain Ad Says Clinton Was `Passed Over`

Sen. McCain and his `fake` sympathy in feeling sorry for Sen. Clinton being passed over! Sen. Clinton clearly came out against that BS political Ad. But to call Sen. McCain on his so-called sympathy for Sen. Clinton being passed over, like he really cares, Sen. Clinton is available, he hasn`t made a running mate selection yet, why doesn`t he pick Sen. Clinton as his running mate or maybe even his other running mate Contractor hottie Vicki Iseman? hmmm

"For a so called dumb old *** with one leg in the grave, he''''s not doing so bad." Posted by IrishWench

Maybe my cynicism was a bit too dry, so I''ll put it another way.

For McSame to even comment about the other party''s business is puerile, facetious, and obviously so. McSame couldn''t care less about Mrs. Clinton, but runs ads in mock pity of her not being chosen.

Let us hope that Mr. Obama can see past this, not even comment on it.

He should forget about the "seven houses" it is irrelevant. He should be talking about bringing the troops home, and if he has the ''nads, call for the current administration to be brought to account for the lies that cost so many lives in Iraq.

He should also emphasize his vision, including a few specifics, as to how to get America finally on track, and let McSame be stuck playing catch up.

So who will McCain be choosing?

Will he pass over Romney?

Will he pass over Guiliani?

Will he pass over Huckabee?

Because all these people made the point that John McCain isn''t the best choice for president.

But McCain''s just afraid to hear the truth.
