Katie Couric's Notebook: Credit Card Theft
Yesterday's announcement of an unprecedented identity theft bust exposed just how difficult it is to protect commerce in the digital age.

A Prayer for World Peace
Great and merciful God, Lord of peace and of life, Your designs are for peace, not affliction. You sent Your Son Jesus to proclaim peace to those near and far and to reunite people of all races and descent in a single family. Hear the unanimous cry of Your children, the sorrowful plea of all humanity for peace. Speak to the hearts of those in charge of the destiny of others. Stop the desire for retaliation and revenge; suggest with Your Spirit new solutions, generous and noble gestures, time for patient waiting. Grant to our times - days of peace.

This report about identity theft certainly serves as a warning to all of us who use credit cards or debit cards to purchase products, especially if we do the purchases online, but it looks as if transactions done at many stores using a debit or credit card could be at risk, due to the modern technology available that can be used by hackers to steal infomation.
Safeguards must be instituted and developed now to prevent high tech costly crimes like this one from ocurring in the future.
Pray for Peace,
Peter
