Katie Couric's Notebook: Tony Snow

Tony Snow passed away last weekend, at 53, from colon cancer.

Tony was quite simply, a great guy. A straight shooter whose work on the other side of the camera gave him special insight into what reporters need to do their jobs - while he also had to serve the President, who was under fire for an unpopular war.

Katie Couric''s Notebook: Stand Up To Cancer (May 28, 2008)

originally had as its 10th listed comment:

"It is now known that certain cancers reappear (in more remote regions of the body after surgical removal) because the originally removed dominant cancer had been secreting a suppressing hormone to keep remote, rival parasitic cancers in check. Why not genetically replicate that very hormone and use it as a regularly administered medical toxin to permanently prevent rival subordinate cancers from resurfacing."

Now... this particular comment remained in place on Katie Couric''s Notebook: Stand Up To Cancer -- for 48 hours. But then ! -- 2 days later -- on May 31 "somebody" removed this post. The only remaining proof of this comment''s original existence now being the 2 word reference (to this comment):

"Interesting thought." (which is still there)

Posted 42 minutes later by the next person (9th comment similar name as WAY below) at 10:02 AM : May 29, 2008.

I got 1 question for CBSNews: "WHO" removed this original post... and "WHY" ?

Dear Katie,

Tony Snow was a great newsman and White House Press Secretary, and a a great and friendly person as well. He will be sorely missed, and our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

The loss of Tony, and your husband Jay, and so many others to the disease of colon cancer, reminds all of us again of the importance of regular colorectal cancer screenings.

Katie,
I am beginning to enjoy and watch CBS Evening News again now that they are letting you be audacious- wearing colors and even smiling. Not so overly somber, serious, and austere anymore.
So simple.
Don''t let them make you be anything other than yourself!
Go Katie!
