Obama to Respond to Bush Accusation

(CBS)

From CBS News’ Maria Gavrilovic:

CHICAGO -- Barack Obama is expected to respond to President Bush’s “appeasement” accusations today while campaigning in South Dakota. Yesterday, Bush likened those who are willing to negotiate with rogue leaders to Nazi appeasers in a speech given at the Israeli Knesset. Although the Bush administration denies that the President was referring specifically to Obama, he and his campaign were quick to interpret it that way.

At a closed fundraiser in Chicago last night, Obama referred to Bush’s criticism in the broader context of Republican attacks. "We’re going to not only have to fight the Republicans, and all the nonsense that is going to be coming out of them – and I am impressed with the degree with which it has started coming out very quickly," Obama said.

Obama went on to criticize "the kind of politics we just saw today," and said he and his wife, Michelle, have been “battered, bruised and buffeted” on the campaign trail. “Knowing we've got good friends, strong supporters; knowing we've got a city we belong to, makes all the difference in the world,” he said.

Today will be Obama’s first full day of campaigning in South Dakota, and he’ll be joined on the trail by former Democratic presidential nominee George McGovern and former Senate majority leader Tom Daschle. The state’s primary is on June 3rd and offers 23 pledged delegates.

To say the least, George W. Bush isn%u2019t a statesman. Bush used yet another anniversary address to sting a domestic political agenda and launch the Republican Party talking point to swift boat the Democratic Presidential Candidate. Bush alleged that anyone that would negotiate with an Islamic Extremist Sponsor of Terrorist State (Iran) would be feudal and detrimental to the Security of the United States much like Neville Chamberlain did when they negotiated the Sudetenland to Adolph Hitler%u2019s Nazi imperial war machine prior to World War II.

Today, American President George W. Bush is holding hands (again) with the King of Saudi Arabia the world%u2019s most prominent sponsor of Terrorism and Terrorists Training Camps. ALL OF THE 911 WTC AIRLINE HIGHJACKERS WERE SAUDI ARABIANS!

Republican Party is synonymous with hypocrisy, Bush only wants to continue beating his war drum against Iran to boost the price of oil.

And, you%u2019re paying for it.

No matter how much Obama defends himself or his party- no matter how much little respect the Republicans have at this point- McCain will still win. It comes down to logic.

Why does anyone take Bush seriously about anything anymore? He''s always been a one-dimensional simpleton, and this speech only proved it (if anyone needed further proof).

While I am no fan of Bush, Obama''s quick response seems to me as crying NO WOLF.

Does he wants to talk to those who intends to hurt our interest?

If you think Bush has no substance in foreign policy, imagine Obama being president (he has no judgement when it comes to his paster, how can he be a good judgement when it comes to those who he does not know yet?)

It is unfortunate that we have a President who uses the sacred halls of the Knesset on the 60th annyversary of Israel''s independance, to launch the beginning of republican party''s attack on Obama.
Although his pronouncements are not justified and totally over the top, we should not be surprised by his rethoric. He is a known hypocrite who will do or say anything to continue serving his masters i.e. the multi national corporations.

Wake up Mr. President!
You and the Republican party will no longer be allowed to continue fooling the American people all of the time.

Please, let''''s not have another "major speech." His last one on "race" was only given to save his butt with the fallout from Wright and nobody believed it was not politically motivated. He has polarized an entire nation along racist lines and now he wants to lecture us on sitting down with our enemies? Leave diplomacy to the diplomats, Obama. If you must play "President" starting in 2009, let the grown ups handle the big stuff.

Well said! Give him something simple to play with and let the big boys get on with it! Geezus!

He''s such a baby if Iran criticized him he''s scream racist and drop a nuke on ''em! That will never happen, tho, since he''s in bed with them and every other Ishlamofascist group known.

92% of the Blacks vote for Obama and that''s not racist.

55% of the Whites vote for Clinton and thats racist.

Michelle and Obama whine when the going gets rough.

They constantly remind us about how Obama is going to save the world and how only Obama can do that.

The White media is constantly kissing his Black Azz.

Even the Democratic Leadership gives them every break you can think of.

My disqust is turning to nauseousness.
How much more of this can a reasonable person take???

Bush is making a statement on foreign policy on what I can see, not targetting a politcal candidate.

What is the point of voting if our President, candidates, and perhaps even us are not allowed to make remarks on policies?

We have gone to far in allowing political speech to be shut down by voices of criticism of the individual rather then voices of reason.

When Bush first ran for president in 2000, he criticized the Clinton administration for high fuel prices and said the president must "jawbone" oil producing nations and persuade them to drop rates. At that time, oil was nearing $28 a barrel.

Today, George W. Bush and his supreme ruler King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia are plotting their further plans to drive the cost of Oil per barrel. President George Bush, John McCain, and the Republican Party supporters are all attempting to break the American Middle Class by diverting as much revenue to the top 1% elite.

Saudi Arabia is the worlds most notorious sponsor of terror, and terrorists training camps. All of the 911wtc highjacking perpetrators were from Saudi Arabia. On September 11th the day of the airline highjacking all air flights were grounded, except for members of the Saudi Royal Family and other Saudis that needed to flee by air from the US, this was approved by President George W. Bush.

Obama supporters, tell me how any of this is acceptable to you...

Obama, as senator, votes against making English the official language of the U.S.,
Obama refuses to wear the american flag as a pin,
Obama refuses to put his hand on his heart during the national anthem and
Obama dedicates his book to a hate mongering religious mentor who he has followed for 20 years. Then has to ask this spiritual mentor to stay away from the cameras until the election is over so he will not show who Obama really is.

Obama has a flag of a communist hero and mass murderer on his campaign office wall. What do you really know about him other than he is a flashy con man?

The cost of oil futures have been sky rocketing due to the United States occupation of Iraq, and the further threat of military confrontation with Iran.

Bush is driving the price you and I pay at the pump, and everything else that needs to be transported. The Republicans have imposed an invisible tax on all Americans.

This is a real issue that needs to be addressed and alleviated, but Republicans only want to distract from their agenda by attacking people personally with non related issues.

There is no question that Bush and his dad''s friends conspired to raise the price of oil. I do not think even they thought that they could quadruple it in 5 years.
