"Who Do You Want Answering The Phone?"

The Clinton campaign is out with a new ad in Texas highlighting national security. Text: "It's 3am and your children are safe and asleep. But there's a phone in the White House and it's ringing. Something's happening in the world. Your vote will decide who answers that call. Whether it's someone who already knows the world's leaders, knows the military, someone tested and ready to lead in a dangerous world. It's 3am and your children are safe and asleep. Who do you want answering the phone?"

Update: CBS News political consultant Joe Trippi weighs in on the similarity between this ad and one run by Walter Mondale against Gary Hart in the 1984 Democratic campaign. "It is even more than a redo," Trippi notes. "Roy Spence who made the 'Red Phone' ad for Mondale is also the consultant Hillary Clinton brought in several weeks ago. It is really a re release of Roy Spence's greatest hit."

"I was with Mondale at the time and it took weeks for that ad to take hold against Gary Hart, not days as the Clinton campaign is doing now. Also it is interesting that Pat Caddell (Jimmy Carter's pollster) has been publicly saying for weeks that the Clinton campaign should get the 'Red Phone' ad up. He was Gary Hart's pollster in 1984 and knows that this is the ad that killed Gary Hart that year. Looks like the Clinton campaign got that message. But is it too late?"

Why would I want either one of them answering the phone? One of them has said they would like to set up a kingdom right here on earth as an instrument of God. It seems like about 230 years ago we got rid of a king. So are we electing a president, or a king, or by chance a dictator. The second part of the question that should have been asked is who would be advising him or her at 3am. I guess I would look at their associates to see what kind of advisers they have now, a spiritual adviser whom is more interested in a persons color or says you can''t truly understand God unless your are black or poor. I would rather go with experience than with a candidate who has a spiritual adviser like that. What kind of advisers would he have at 3am.

ISSUE.Ring,Ring,Ring it''s 3 am and the red phone is ringing in the White house and has been ringing now for over 12 months,it''s the American troops in Afganistan trying to find the chairman of the senate commitee in charge of the combined European forces defending against the spread of Al Qaida and the Taliban in Afganistan.Seems to me the great and oh so awsome Obama has grown deaf to the ringing of this phone.HIS RED PHONE MOMENT MISSED BECAUSE HE WAS JUST TO BUSY... FOR A MAN WHO SAYS HES THE ONE TO GET THE JOB DONE HES FAILED TO CHANGE A THING WHEN HE HAD THE CHANCE TOO AGAIN HES MISSING IN ACTION ON AN ISSUE HE HAS STATED OVER AND OVER IS AN IMPORTANT ISSUES.

Obama is the pre-packaged "New & Improved Chocolate Flavor" Presidential candidate PRODUCT - being hyped & PUSHED by GE and its WHOLLY-Owned subsidiaries NBC & MSNBC...along with Westinghouse & its subsidiary CBS...while slamming the Clintons all day every day. GE is the 2nd largest corporation on the planet.

WHY? Obama is IN with the Nuclear Industry: Excelon Corp of Illinois has been one of his largest contributors from his entry into politics to the present. Excelon is the largest nuke operator on the planet.

GE, Westinghouse, Excelon & 3 consortiums of other companies are planning to build 29 new nuclear power plants. Their Wholly-Owned & Wholly Influenced "News" media are selling the Obama Product because Obama is in favor of Nukes.

In 2005 Obama Voted FOR the Cheney Energy Bill (H.R.6) which ENABLED the nuke industry to make its Plans to build 29 new nukes-by Guaranteeing Taxpayer Payback of any nuke loans that default. (No nukes were built for the past 30 years because the banks wouldn''t loan the money - too risky)

Obama Voted FOR the Cheney Energy Bill-despite the fact the Congressional Budget Office rated the risk of default on the nuke loans at 50% or greater. (Does that sound like...GOOD...JUDGMENT to You?)

[NY Times has several articles about the nuke plans & a map showing all 29 locations; Wikipedia covers the subject]

Clinton Voed AGAINST the Cheney Energy Bill and said her Energy Plan does not include nuclear.

The obvious answer is Hillary. She has 35 years of experience and has a trackable impressive record of getting things done. She has spent her life making all our lives better. Especially when it comes to our civil rights and human rights. She has an incrediable record and has been endorsed by some extremely heavy weight, including 27 military officials including generals, etc.. go to her site http://www.hillaryclinton.com I think "hope" is great, but with the wars we have now, we need a Commander in Chief regardless of gender or race that has some experience. If your child was in the hospital and needed life threatening surgery, would you go for the smooth talker with 3 years as an intern or the surgeon with 30 years of experience?

Whoa Kate, come shovel some snow, that will get rid of some of that anger. Some of these postings I have read here, need to do some research on the parties and quit listening to the republican media...and the sexist slamming Hillary.

Either Clinton could answer and I would be fine.

Hillary - the only 3 am phone call you have coming your way will be Wednesday morning after you lose Texas and barely squeak by in Ohio. It will be from Howard Dean or one of the other Democratic Muckity Mucks telling you its time to hang it up so the party can rally around Obama.

I just watched Obama''s response. It seems as if whatever she slings his direction, he just reaches out and swats it down. No sweat.

The last throes of the Clinton campaign. I would put money that the ad gets pulled within a day or so. Fear mongering will totally backfire, and the sleazeball tactics of the Clinton machine will fail. And then, of course, there''s the Texas situation where the Clinton machine is questioning the policy of democratic voting/caucuses. Give me a break.

The question is which Hillary would answer the red phone. Would it be the Hillary who cries, or the shrill harpy Hillary who points her finger and waves her arms and wants to talk about your behavior young man, or the Hillary who is sarcastic and belittle s her rivals, or the bitter, poor me, Hillary who thinks there is a media or vast right wing conspiracy against her. Maybe it will be the Hillary looks the other way while her husband sleeps around so that she can keep her political career alive or maybe the Hillary who never met a rule she didn''t want to challenge so that she could win at all costs. If she would decide who she is maybe voters could decide if he is fit to be President and should answer the red phone.

I''m starting not to like Obama. I think he is all talk. He is the standard liberal canidate cloaked in hope. He doesn''t answer questions. He is not accessable to the press. When he is their are all kinds of conditions. I don''t think a canidate should be hiding from the people. What is Obama afraid of. Perhaps he is afraid of his true character being exposed.

Obama inspires me, but so do his supporters. People are so engaged and informed during this primary election campaign. They are not falling for the fear or the smear. I''m inspired truly inspired, not just by what Obama has done, but by what he has inspired average ordinary people to do as well. Go Obama!

There is no doubt in my mind that I would want President Obama answering that phone. He has 2 young children and I feel confident that he will do what''s best for them. I''m not offended by this ad. People who are concerned that this will give Republicans a leg up, shouldn''t be. Barack has plenty of positives that outweigh McCain''s negatives. This is the matchup that the democrats could have only dreamed of. It''s great that McCain is a decorated war veteran, but trying to spin Iraq as good for this country is simply not going to work. Whether the situation improves or not, I''m still not convinced that it was the right thing to do. Also, lets not forget about the economy. He was quoted in one of the Replublican debates as saying he knew nothing about it. The economy is a truly valid issue in this election. With regard to NAFTA, Obama never said he would do away with NAFTA. He said he would renegotiate it. Any business man who doesn''t understand the need to sometimes renegotiate business deals just doesn''t understand business at all. So NAFTA will be a plus for Obama, not a negative, no matter how McCain is spinning it at the moment.

Hilary, who did you vote for to answer the phone in 1992?
A man with extensive foreign policy experience as President, vice-President, and CIA director, or a governor of Arkansas with no foreign policy or national government experience?

Who Do I want answering the phone? ANYBODY BUT A CLINTON. It is pretty clear she is running out of things to throw at Obama in order to turn this train wreck around and so far, nothing is sticking. Early voting in Texas is at a alltime HIGH and the exit polls show they are NOT voting for Clinton.

This ad didn''t kill Gary Hart - I don''t even remember it -- but I do remember the pictures of him on the boat "Monkey Business" with his paramour.
