Texas All Tied Up, Says New Poll

(AP)
A wave of momentum has carried Barack Obama to big victories in every contest since Super Tuesday, and it now appears that wave is headed toward Texas, where a new poll shows Obama and Hillary Clinton in a statistical tie.

The ABC News/Washington Post poll of likely Democratic voters in Texas shows Clinton at 48 percent support, with Obama at 47 percent – a gap well within the survey's 4 percent margin of error. The poll was conducted from Feb. 16-20, meaning most of its data comes from before Obama's big win in Wisconsin's Feb. 19 primary.

Ohio voters were also polled – here, Clinton's lead is shrinking but still significant. In the Buckeye State, she leads Obama, 50 percent to 43 percent.

Both polls reflect the trend previously seen in other states: Clinton starts out with double-digit leads, sometimes more than 20 percentage points, only to see her advantage evaporate as the Obama campaign becomes active. Only a few days ago, polls in Texas showed her with an 8 percentage point lead over Obama. In Ohio, her lead was even bigger.

Early in the Democratic race, it appeared momentum wasn't much of a factor, with Clinton and Obama virtually trading wins and fighting to a draw on Super Tuesday. But after a series of wins in states where Obama out-organized and out-spent Clinton, it appears the Illinois senator has become strong enough to eat into her leads even in states where, on paper, she should have a clear advantage.

God is God. But Obama is authentic as far as humans go. Here are some clues: (1) When he was made to feel guilty for using a couple of his friend''s apt phrases, he said, "Sorry." Can you imagine McCain or Clinton saying they made mistakes? No way--they were socialized into a politics of denying personal guilt. (2) Obama writes the majority of his own speeches and often speaks spontaneously, which is obviously why he can be seen grasping for words sometimes. B/c he hasn''t pre-memorized his comments word-for-word, he gives us a sense not only about his message but also and more importanty about who he is as a person and thinker. The perfectly memorized "lines" of Clinton and McCain, by contrast, pass as intelligence but are really ways of hiding their personalities and true intentions. (3) By refusing special interest contributions to his campaign, Obama is positioning himself to be truly representative of his millions of contributers--the people. (4) When Obama tells us we have been falsely divided for too long and that we are really one people, he does so knowing that the so-called "white" and "black" blood in his own body made him a full, complete, competent, and empathetic human being. (5) Although it''s a judgment call, you might agree that Obama does not smile or behave in anyway falsely. He even blew his nose in front of 1000s of supporters. He''s real.

National Right to Life (NRLC) has published this statement on their web page about true conservative Mike Huckabee:

"National Right to Life is grateful for the strong pro-life record established by Mike Huckabee as governor of Arkansas, and recognizes that Governor Huckabee has taken the strongest pro-life position on all of the life issues of any of the remaining candidates for president."

Ohio and Texas are true conservatives states. They will play a huge role in electing Mike Huckabee a true pro-life candidate for President.

We do need to get real. We need a Commander-in-Chief not a boy in the White House. Solutions over dreams is right on! We need a hard worker in the oval office, we need what Hillary is...a workaholic. We don''t need the fancy little boy with the shiny shoes and the preachy rhetoric, we can go to church on Sunday''s for that. Go Hillary!!

McCain says he is a man of honor and integrity. Here is our challenge then: Debate Huckabee between February 23-29. Show your honor by letting the voters hear both sides in debate. The voters of Texas and the rest of the United States have the right to free and balanced elections. Offering one candidate a voice and saying we must choose him is not an election.
Miguel de Cervantes, said this in the sixteenth century, "to attain the impossible, you must first attempt the impossible."
Thank you Mike & Janet for giving all of us the impossible, with your selfless hard work and sacrifice to better the lives of all Americans!
Not by might nor by power but by thy Spirit, sayeth the Lord! Zechariah 4:6
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me Phillipians 4:13
When we look at the word "impossible" through Christ, it says "I''''m possible!"
Stand tall, pray without ceasing, keep the faith, and vote HUCKABEE!

If people like Harry Smith keep
suggesting that Hilliary should
step aside, the media is killing
Hilliary. Hilliary is right
Obama''s does nothing but words and
not substance. I hope CBS news
looses its butt in ratings. I
don''t see how Katie''s show could
get any lower. She belongs in
the cellar with George Bush where
they feed Mushrooms a lot of ***.
And, I cleaned that one up.
Go Hilliary!

Now, the deficit will head in the other direction, possibly a 10 to 15% Obama romp.

Every once in awhile a leader comes along that stirs people''s beliefs that things can be better, that we can do better. I do believe this man is one of those leaders. Although I supported Clinton and still think she would make a good leader, it''s pretty obvious to me that America as a whole has decided we need to change directions and they have decided that this is the man to lead that change. I''m sure the Repblican''s will employ all the Rove type tactics against him but I doubt that will be successful at all.

15 to 20 point leads have now dwindled to a dead heat in Texas and an achievable goal in Ohio. And Obama did this with great speeches, a grassroots campaign, dedicated volunteers, and a website that offers all of Obama''s proposals for America''s future. The ''Aura of Inevitability'' that was once the Clinton mantra has been erased by Obama, and now he''s in a position to all but put the Democratic Nomination away.

America do not want the Clintons in the White House. They got by the last time, by the skin of their teeth. We can not afford them again. Anyone in Washington, is better than the past. This is a New Day.

croft777,

All Catholics in Ohio don''t think like you. He''s cut her once large lead in Ohio in half in 1 week with 2 to go. He''s done the same in Texas.

It really doesn''t matter who ekes out wins in Ohio & Texas because the results will be close and she needs blowouts.

It may not be over til the fat lady sings but I can almost hear Roseanne screaming the national anthem right now!
