Texas All Tied Up, Says New Poll

The ABC News/Washington Post poll of likely Democratic voters in Texas shows Clinton at 48 percent support, with Obama at 47 percent – a gap well within the survey's 4 percent margin of error. The poll was conducted from Feb. 16-20, meaning most of its data comes from before Obama's big win in Wisconsin's Feb. 19 primary.
Ohio voters were also polled – here, Clinton's lead is shrinking but still significant. In the Buckeye State, she leads Obama, 50 percent to 43 percent.
Both polls reflect the trend previously seen in other states: Clinton starts out with double-digit leads, sometimes more than 20 percentage points, only to see her advantage evaporate as the Obama campaign becomes active. Only a few days ago, polls in Texas showed her with an 8 percentage point lead over Obama. In Ohio, her lead was even bigger.
Early in the Democratic race, it appeared momentum wasn't much of a factor, with Clinton and Obama virtually trading wins and fighting to a draw on Super Tuesday. But after a series of wins in states where Obama out-organized and out-spent Clinton, it appears the Illinois senator has become strong enough to eat into her leads even in states where, on paper, she should have a clear advantage.

It really doesn''t matter who ekes out wins in Ohio & Texas because the results will be close and she needs blowouts.

- God is God. But Obama is authentic as far as humans go. Here are some clues: (1) When he was made to feel guilty for using a couple of his friend''s apt phrases, he said, "Sorry." Can you imagine McCain or Clinton saying they made mistakes? No way--they were socialized into a politics of denying personal guilt. (2) Obama writes the majority of his own speeches and often speaks spontaneously, which is obviously why he can be seen grasping for words sometimes. B/c he hasn''t pre-memorized his comments word-for-word, he gives us a sense not only about his message but also and more importanty about who he is as a person and thinker. The perfectly memorized "lines" of Clinton and McCain, by contrast, pass as intelligence but are really ways of hiding their personalities and true intentions. (3) By refusing special interest contributions to his campaign, Obama is positioning himself to be truly representative of his millions of contributers--the people. (4) When Obama tells us we have been falsely divided for too long and that we are really one people, he does so knowing that the so-called "white" and "black" blood in his own body made him a full, complete, competent, and empathetic human being. (5) Although it''s a judgment call, you might agree that Obama does not smile or behave in anyway falsely. He even blew his nose in front of 1000s of supporters. He''s real.
