Update: Romney Wins Majority Of Wyoming Delegates

Iowa and New Hampshire may be dominating in attention received by the candidates and, thus, the media. But Wyoming Republicans are holding a series of county convention meetings today to choose a total of 12 delegates to the national convention in Minneapolis next fall – the first delegates awarded in 2008. Final results are expected to be available later this evening but at the time of this post, three delegates have been awarded – all to Mitt Romney.

Update: As of 3:00pm eastern time, Mitt Romney has won six of the 12 Wyoming delegates. California Congressman Duncan Hunter has won one and Fred Thompson one, with four yet to be awarded. Those numbers are a correction over what was reported in this post earlier, which gave Romney seven and Hunter one. That still gives Romney a majority of the delegates.

Unlike even the Iowa caucuses, Wyoming's county conventions reflect more the choices of party leaders in the state than a popular vote. While several candidates have visited the state, mostly for fund-raising events, Wyoming has received little attention sandwiched in between the two traditional kick-off states and the state was penalized by the national party, which stripped it of half of its delegate total.

Don''t be fooled by Romney. He wants to buy Americans, not earn their respect. Romney will say anything to get elected and change his mind over and over again. Romney can''t balance a budget. Just look at how much he lost in Iowa of his own base''s hard earned money flushed down the toliet. He got hammered in Iowa after millions and milions of dollars of negative TV ads.

On the other hand, Huckabee''s likeability, his honesty, his optimism, his humbleness, his trustworthiness are all character traits that define him.

American voters are thrilled to have a presidential candidate who not only has experience on running a government, but also someone who has integrity and charm.

That''s why Huckabee is skyrocking in the polls and now taking over # 1 position in the nation. Everybody can feel the energy when Huckabee talks, they feel at ease when he speaks with them.

Huckabee is like no other candidate in the last 100 years. His charm, his down to earth speak, his witty style makes people feel good about themselves in side. Someone they want to hang around with and chat wtih.

Huckabee is going to revolutionize America with his optimism for all not just a selected group. Huckabee appeals to all types of groups. He is going to lead this nation up to higher ground creating a new America spirit to be born.

This is a great time to be an American!

Prinzowhales,

You must be from the East Coast. Wyoming could not possibly be described as having a sizeable Mormon conclave--at least not in any sense that could shape the primary vote in that state.

Congrats. to Wyoming. The first state to look at The qualification factor. Romney is the only man in the race remotely qualified to be president in this dreadful group of prospects.

This is the state that gave us *** Cheney...not surprisingly, Romney would thrive in such an environment...there is a pretty sizable Mormon conclave there as well.
