Chasing Huckabee Not As Glamorous as It May Seem

(CBS)
From CBS News' Joy Lin:

Traveling on the road as a journalist requires two skills: intuition and counterintuitive behavior. While every other reasonable person in the world is running away from bad weather or a crisis situation, you’re running towards it – as fast as you can, trying not to make mistakes.

Mike Huckabee is not bad weather, but bad weather was literally chasing him this week. First, the ice storm that killed sixteen people in the Midwest lacquered southwest Iowa so mercilessly that he had to cancel parts of his trip. That same cold front later ensnared Huckabee supporter Chuck Norris and reporters like me trying to get to New Hampshire because Huckabee was there.

I booked, rebooked, and had to wait list myself on a nighttime flight to land in a location three driving hours from Huckabee’s first event Friday. Luggage lost, I lived out of my purse and made the three hour drive ... only to run into a snow bank when I got there and crack a seam through my bumper.

That’s when a guy named Nate rolled down the window of his truck offering to pull my car out of the snow. That was the highlight of my day -- the unsolicited help of a stranger.

Wow! GiantRobot2 I can see you really like Mike. I liked him too. However, I just read a statement he issued about foreign policy. He attacked Bush and seemed to be talking about non-intervention but at the same time he is more war hawkish.

Either way poor people won''t become richer as the waron terror is now going to cost us at least 4 Trillion dollars. That is trillion with a T! What is happening ecomomically in this country is astounding. Record debt, record foreclosures and very recent record inflation figures. We my friend, are in a world of hurt. The record borrowing we have done has put off the inevitable but we can no longer borrow our way out of this mess. The comptroller of the US has been making statements about the likelyhood of a national bankruptcy. Mike wants to DOUBLE military spending. He wants to increase Health care costs. He is fiscally going to be a disaster and stear this big boat right into the ground. Mike is cool but I don''t know where he gets his financial views.

I am afraid we all need Ron Paul whether we like him or not. He is the only who talks about what we are facing. There are so many financial experts that back Paul''s views it is not even funny.

What good would a terrorist free world be if they get their way anyway by the US being brought to its knees by non-force means? Terrorist''s main weapon is fear. As long as we focus on that they win no matter how many are killed and how many countries we occupy.

Ed Rollins is a master at campain strategy. This guy knows what he is doing. It''''s not by luck that Ronald Regan won all but one state out of 50.

With Mike Huckabee skyrocketing in the polls and now picking up Ed Rollins, his HUCKABUS is going to go from HUCKABOOM to HUCKABAMBOOM!!!

I can see a movie in the making here, Mike Huckabee coming out of no where sprinting pass the competition like they were stuck on honey.

This is an incrediable success story in the making. You are going to see everybody and their brother wanting the rights to make this movie about Mike Huckabee''''s charismatic success.

Look out world, America is back in the running! Mike Huckabee is going to steer this big ship of ours and he has the masses supporting him. Just as a rockband of supporters cheering on Mike now... GO MIKE GO, GO MIKE GO, GO MIKE GO!!!!!

With Mike''''s super ability to connect with people, he will connect with national leaders. The Earth will shift, I can hear the rutters start to grind and turn now, an amazing amount of force is coming.

The evil terrorist will be stomped on like a pancake, the poor will become richer, the sick will become healther, the economy will become brighter. This is an amazing historical time for America on the horizon.
