I realize that a Royal visit should have a comment in the news,,,,Maybe the gossip page, what she wore and so forth. But does this really qualify as news?

Perfectly in character for Bush: He has to wait for the Queen to leave before he can bother about visiting the tornado victims in Kansas.

Dear Katie, Today Laura Bush was on a State Dinner Preview segment on C-Span, and she was very pleasant, well organized, methodical and articulate as she described all the arrangements regarding the State Dinner tonight for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip.(Why do we always forget to mention Prince Phillip?) She certainly seemed to know everthing about all the details regarding the State Dinner as well, and I was very impressed by her organizational skills and knowledge about giving State Dinners. She really seemed to enjoy planning it! I have no doubt that her gentle persuasion arm twisting techniques, along with the help of Condoleeza Rice, had a great effect on President Bush deciding to host this White Tie State Dinner for Queeen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, in true Camelot style, instead of Crawford style. I'm not so sure that these gentle persuasion arm twisting techniques would be very effective in changing President Bush's mind regarding national policies,however... but,hey you never know! All I know is that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip owe Laura Bush, and Condoleeza Rice,a great debt of gratitude, for without their gentle persuasion arm twisting, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip might be outside in the chilly air tonight sitting on hard logs ,having a great Texas style barbecue with all the fixin's, way out there at the Presidential "home on the range" in good ol' Crawford, instead of enjoying a State Dinner at the White House!
