--Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, asking the media to back off from scrutiny of his wife Judith Nathan Giuliani. Writes WCBS-TV New York's Lou Young: "That's a tough sell for a man who suggested he might invite his wife into cabinet meetings."

Noble motive, but no dice Rudy Giuliani. It was Rudy -- not us -- who injected her into the front-and-center of his campaign (cabinet meeting invitations; the big kiss cover of the NYPost). Certainly, Judy Nathan ought not to be scrutinized like Gary Hart, b ut if she insists on a larger than life role in front of the cameras ...
