Good luck to the entire CBS Evening News team. The USA is very ready for a network newcast that is fresh, interactive, and represents our interests both aboard and at home. Thank you for making this happen. For the first time, in a long time, I'm looking forward to watching a network evening newscast. (And, I'm not the 60-year old that pollsters and media critics claim are the only ones watching network news!)

Good luck, Katie! I can't wait to see your first broadcast as anchor of the CBS Evening News! Maya Angelou remarked: "How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes!" You are one of my she-roes, and I celebrate you and wish you all the best! ~Jennifer

"...THIS is the see-bee-es evening news with Katherine Couric!..."

Holy Edward R.Murrow, this is AWESOME, dood!

Fantastic! congratulations Katherine!

Hopefully your new history making anchorwoman job at CBS news will live up to all the Internet hype and journalistic excitement and anticipation and nail biting(s)!

oh and..God bless CBSNEWS DOT COM , America and the internet!

Well, just like good ole Ethel Merman used to sing "There's no business like T.V. news business":( with slightly revised lyrics dedicated to CBS news star ,Katie C)

The lyrics are as follows:

"The costumes, the scenery, the makeup, the props, The CBS evening news audience that lifts you when you're down,

The headaches, the heartaches, the backaches, the flops, The sheriff who escorts you out of town(huh? lol),

The opening when your heart beats like a drum,

The ending when the closing credits usually come ,

***There's no business like TV NEWS business
Like no business I know ,
Everything about it is appealing ,Everything the evening news producer will allow.***

No where could you have that happy feeling ,

When you aren't stealing that extra bow,

There's no people like TV news people
They smile when they are low ,

Katie, Yesterday they told you you would not go far ,On September 5th 2006, at 6:30 pm EST you opened and there you are ,

Next day on your dressing room they've hung a star

Let's go on with the CBS evening news show ...."

GO Katie GO </ ;-)

I am excited about the public sound-off that I heard Katie talking about this morning on WCBS-AM.

How can a person "book" a spot?

Break a leg Katie!
