Read the US Constitution. It did not originally authorize a Fed income tax. That came as a temporary tax to fund the civil war. II think it is over now. These job creators would not feel the need to leave if their own Government wasn't trying to steal their earnings. The other nations love the jobs they create over there.

So here we go again with the argument of "unpayable" obligation. You should realize that a contract which specifies no fixed compensation is not a legal contract at all. Denise Rich has given America songs that will forever generate economic activity and which have highlighted American talent. I think that she has done her part.

If America refuses to let people change their citizenship then what America is doing is denying them their Constitutional right of expatriation. America would also be putting restrictions on their right to exercise choice with regards to their property, for money is property. In other words restricting the right of citizen movement would be nothing more or less than adopting the Marxist teaching regarding captial controls.
The U.S. is fully entilted to the same thing as is any other sovereign state and that is the right to tax its own currency. Extraterritorial taxation is taxation of the treasuries of other countries.
In other words taxation is a closed system and not the open one that the U.S. wants it to be.
In the end if the U.S. succeeds on taxing its citizens and in restricting their rights to move their capital by restricting them then the whole world will be poorer. Capital that is bound inextricably to one jurisdiction is capital that cannot find its most efficient use and that means less worldwide economic growth for the world and the U.S.

How sad it is that those who have benefitted so greatly by being making their fortunes in this country now abandon it. It really says a lot about their character - and I agree the doors of the US should be shut to them. The USA is to good for them.

Not everybody working and living abroad is a vulture capitalist.

Many working overseas are renouncing citizenship because US laws are making it difficult for themnto even to get a checking account or buy a house. Too bad bad US law is forcing loyalncitizens to choose. Note we are the ONLY country in the world to tax it's citizens living in another country.

Yes its becoming more and more difficult for Americans to even be able to open bank accounts in foreign countries because of all the hoops and regulations and reporting requirements the US gov't is imposing on these foreign owned banks... Many banks - are just saying to h@ll with it and now are starting to refuse to service American citizens. I know this is starting to become more and more of a problem throughout much of Asia.

Taxes in the US are at an all time low. People will leave for a multitude of reasons. Among them is that life as they want to live it is better in another country. Best Wishes to them. They clearly do not need the protection of our government and for that reason renounce their citizenship. Today due to the the dull witted voters in our country who for decades allowed the use of Federal tax funds to spread US corporate Imperialism around the world, US corporations rule the world and our government today. Soon it may not be safe for any expatriate to live abroad as a US citizen.

All those ranting about treason only refute their own constitution that guarantees each person the right to pursue their happiness. If that is found outside of the U.S., so be it. Who says the U.S. is the best place to live? I left it many, many years ago and still today know that it was the best decision I ever made. Incidentally, I served in Nam and don't collect any kind of pension from the U.S., so don't go there.
