Hell, while we are at we should indict the whole bunch, Indurain, Hinault, Merckx...I'm sure not of them could have been so dominate without taking performance enhancing drugs.

It's funny how these jokers all of a sudden develop a concience after years of denying their own usage, even after they were clearly busted. That dirtbag Landis finally gave up his fight after scamming millions of dollars from those who donated to his cause, and we his scam was revealed he tries to toss Lance under the bus to take the heat off. What a class act?

who knows whos telling the truth. BUT if you think along the lines that these guys were doping and probably everyone else.
Well the other guys who were dopeing didn't win so still means lance when doping was the best over all the other cyclist who doped so pretty much doesn't change the fact he won the races in the real world nor that he came back from life threatening cancer to do it.
So don't really see the point. The guys complaining are the ones
who doped and got caught and still weren't good enough to win.

I agree 100% with joanna58 IMO Armstrong is the biggest sporting fraud of all time. By keep saying he never tested positive is the standard response, that's what they all say until they are caught. Rather obvious when you think about it really. The simple fact that you have never been caught or convicted of breaking the 30mph speed limit dose not mean that you've never exceeded 30mph in the limit. So this argument is rather ambiguous.
But when they tested 6 of his samples from 1999 tour with the tests that they now use they all came up positive. His former teammates, his mechanic & masseur have all stated that he & the US Postal team were all doping. Are they all liars & sour losers?
I think it's universally accepted that the last true clean winner of the TDF was your own Greg Lemond another American who was truly loved & respected by the French people. So I don't believe its an anti American thing as some here are suggesting. The fact that Armstrong survived cancer DOES NOT make him special in any way You & I both know lots of people that have survived cancer, and as Paul Kimmage stated that does not happen because you are special but because you are one of the very lucky ones. IMO the sport of cycling finally got rid of its cancer when LA retired for the second time this year.

You all are talking about cycling, right? Wake me when you get to something more exciting like clipping toe nails.

Don't know much about cycling and drug testing procedures, but is it possible to do a blood transfusion immediately after the race and therefore all the drug testing would be negative?

I decided a long time ago Lance probably did EPO in his early years. Most of the big guys were doing it and the tour was okay with it. Why he decided to deny it is his business.
Since that time he has been tested more than anyone, not knowing when or where the knock would come at his door wanting a pee sample. Tyler and Floyd both got caught (as did many others) now they want to bring down Lance.(Oh excuse me, they want now want to tell the "truth") I respect George for not being a part of the whole circus.
Lance and his foundation has done more good for cycling and cancer, I don't really care that he doped in 1999. I guess that makes me a bad person, I can live with that.

None of us really know the truth but here's what get's me as a Brit - Lance Armstrong survived severe cancer, his charity Livestrong saves thousands of lives around the globe, he helped to put American cycling on the map in Europe. He has now retired but his story is an inspiration too many.
If America brings one of it's heroes down I think it's kicking itself in the balls too!

Before Lance ,the doper, wasn't there another American multiple winner that seems to have gotten a real life and lives somewere out west. To all you cyclist types out there some states consider you a vehicle on the road. But guess what you are required to follow the rules of the road like stop signs, redlights and lane changing etc. With every government strapped for cash I look forward to adult bicycle registration, maybe insurance to.
