- wonder if it could someday tap into the earths magnetic field or the Sun's. Maybe even a gyroscope replacement. Think of millions of these on a nano scale spinning on a disc at astronomical speeds then spin the disc then put several discs together...

- This is what is known in the trade as a "parlor trick"
It is quite easy to duplicate - just get 2 rare earth permanent magnets and put one on top of the other in a fixture and they will repel each other. Hovering magnets!
Unfortunately it has little practical value, unless your planning on gluing magnets to all the road surfaces in the country. - Reply to this comment
