- Wow! Some of you people are so heartless! This woman lost the chance of expeirencing child birth or having a child of her own flesh and blood, but then was given the opprotunity to do so. It's a miracle this grandmother was able to do this! Yes there are children out there in need of homes, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to have our own children too. It's not greedy at all. As for the teacher, you shouldn't be so biased- that does not make for a good teacher.

- This is just greedy/privileged. Why not adopt a needy orphan instead?

- You're clueless, aren't you? Why shouldn't they have their own child if the means are there for them? Not everyone is in a position to deal with adopting a needy orphan who may have many physical & psychological challenges.

- Adoption cannot replace your own. These people have the right to make a choice that is best for them. So do you. Learn to live with it.

- Why not adopt a parent-less needy orphan? Geez, there are enough people on this planet already. This is just greed and self-inflated ego of the privileged. Thumbs down on this one.

- I did better than that. I was a career educator, taking care of all those parenting mistakes of others. I know the need of those orphans.

- Surrogate is the term. She is still biologically the grandmother. It seems pretty unlikely humans will become "extinct" unless we destroy our planet. The world population is 7 billion and counting.

- so is she a sister-mom? We need to go to extreme measures to keep humans from becoming extinct.

- No. The gestational carrier is the grandmother. She offered her uterus, not her egg, and the child is not her biological child. The mom is her daughter; the egg came from her ovary. The dad is her daughter's husband; he provided the sperm for the in vitro fertilization.
