The food was changed in the USA, UK and Australia 30 years ago when dangerous food chemicals from the USA was allowed into European. The food today causes stubborn insulin If you have stubborn insulin you hold fat and have a hard time losing weight. You can eat very little and the weight still does not come off. Stubborn insulin will hold fat and diets won't work. When researchers used a specialized diabetes diet on overweight people all lost weight even those who did not have diabetes.

just google SPIRIT HAPPY DIET

High fructose corn syrup plays a major role in the obesity epidemic and the resulting type II diabetes. If the FDA were doing it's job they would remove the fructose corn syrup from the market; then in 2030 the diabetes would be in decline.

We all consume corn syrup.

If that were the problem, we'd ALL be fat.

The problem is gluttony, not corn syrup.

They keep talking about the cost. The thin runners, salad eaters that I know, are the ones who are endlessly sick, endlessly at the doctor's office, and I kid you not. It is ridiculous. I'm not saying obese people don't get sick, but I don't see any difference at all, in fact, just the opposite, whether it's people I work with or neighbors, friends, family, the health watchers are always whining about this or that and running to the doctor. And, no, I'm not overweight, I walk, and my motto is all things in moderation, and I don't run to the doctor. Explain, someone, why all my health/diet watching acquaintances and family are so frequently sick.

You got that right, same issues in my family. Skinny, afraid to eat,so forth and so on, and they are in poor health. What it comes down to, eat, but be smart.

Christ, the difference between the illness or injury brought on by a healthy lifestyle is tiny compare to the health cost of obesity. You must be fat if you're trying to place partial blame on joggers. Didn't you even read the article how jogging can add 6 years to a lifespan? I never heard that fat could be good for you.

It's their personal right as an American citizen to eat as they like. Ever heard of "The Heart Attack Grill?" Ill take an aneurism burger with a super-size soda pop

I think we should treat this with the same discrimination as we do cigarettes. We should put pictures of open heart surgery and dead people being pulled out of their houses by cranes on the covers of big macs.... and in the windows of fast food restaurants. Nothing will make you reconsider your Triple Whopper with Cheese like seeing that. Obesity is a leading PREVENTABLE cause of death.

You don't have to go to a restaurant to be obese, and the restaurants don't hold a gun to your head to eat there, like always it's a matter of choice. The person must be responsible, it's become to easy to blame the restaurants.
Molly-Pchr replies:

Oh nonsense. Everything in moderation. Someone who goes and has a slice of cake or a Whopper once in awhile isn't going to drop dead from it. But trust me, someone who obsesses over every morsel and worries about it will make his or her self just as sick. Of the obese people I know and the vitamin poppers, runners, health food eaters only, the vitamin popper is dead at age 60, the health food eater had a massive coronary at 37 years of age!!!, and the runner is on chemo at the age of 57, probably from running on the road so much with all the air pollution from cars (he lives in the country, not the city). And this is an absolutely true post, not one word of exaggeration. All things in moderation, people.

I agree, the government should also tax fast food like they do cigarettes.

For the vast majority of cases but for those who have significant problems preventing them from running to burn off the fat...

I love how everyone thinks everything has a 100% bulletproof simple answer... Nor can I except myself from that... anybody who tries would only prove the claim...

To the Far Right: you have the nerve to tell women who need birth control to hold their legs together so how about telling the fat Tea Partyers to stop eating at restaurants and junk food?

An "Triple Whopper with Cheese" is perfectly healthy whole food -- if you toss the buns, fries and pop!

There is a recent article posted on Google News about the connection of Dinosaur farts to pre-historic global warming... After reading the article one has to consider the connection to these obese monstrocities that should no longer be classified as human beings. I think we should start banning all of these fatties out here... Imagine how much better society would smell and how much methane gas in the atmosphere would be reduced!!

We all presently pay $200 billion/yr for obesity-related health care.

Health insurance premiums need to be based on weight.

Super-size your meals, ass, and medical costs? Then super-size the premium as well....
