Regardless of anyone's political inclinations, it seems suspicious that the percentage of Americans who support abortion rights in "all circumstances" jumped from 23% to 36% since 2009. Have 13% of the people you know had such a radical shift in their views in just the past two years?

Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.

Makes sense to me! <cough>

Oh, right. You've been thoroughly brainwashed.

I retract the question.

==========

It's lucky the Harry Potter series didn't come out 2,000 years ago, or you'd be claiming Dumbledore "God", Harry would be your "Jesus", and Lord Voldemort would be your "Devil".

Opinion stories written by sheep-buggering guys who wrote those stories decades and centuries after Jesus' death hold just as much validity for a "religion" as your "Good Book".

Basics for liberal ideology!

Again, nice tunnel vision - anyone disagrees on an issue with you, and you think they are the polar opposite. I take each issue case by case.

Why don't you? Too much thinking required, I'm sure...

I've read them, sure. And the level of fiction is comparable to the Bible, which is why I drew the comparison.

You were hookwinked when you were taught about Christianity.

My observation is the majority of people born before Roe vs Wade are in favor of government restrictions on Abortion while the majority born after Roe vs Wade are not in favor of government restrictions on it. But the vast majority of people are against abortion itself. Thus we are seeing more support for the pro-choice position as the oldsters die off and are replaced by younger people who are used to the idea.

Nothing wrong with homosexuality or abortion? Yep, a liberal alright.

-------------------

Wow. another of those who is SO hyper-ideological that if I don't agree with any of your points, you think I am the polar opposite. You have tunnel vision.

I am libertarian, Einstein. Any idea what that means? I actually want smaller government, and I want it the hell out of the private lives of law-abiding citizens.

And I want to watch ALL of you social conservatives get dragged preferably kicking and screaming into the 21st century, as there is not one damned thing you can do about it.

Einstein knew the same meanings of different words !

lib?er?tar?i?an (lbr-t?r-n)
n.
1. One who advocates maximizing individual rights and minimizing the role of the state.
2. One who believes in free will.

ib?er?al (lbr-l, lbrl)
1. A person with liberal ideas or opinions.

And I,m going to watch you liberalists get kicked back to 1929 thanks to social liberalism while there is something you can do about it!
But the dammed thing is, you refuse!
slappy_mcjohnson replies:
linkicon reporticon emailicon
Not sure what your point is - I am a libertarian - did you not read the "maximizing individual rights"? You seem to be the opposite in that respect.

The problem is that people like you aren't usually ACTUAL fiscal conservatives - you like welfare, as long as it's for private companies, right??

You probably also think America's financial crisis is just bad luck or the fault of Bush!

You probably also think that the heat, storms, flooding , fires , drought, etc, are just climate change!

=============

Oh, I am a social moderate, for sure. Extreme fiscal conservative, on the level of Ron Paul.

I believe that Bible-thumping social conservatives like yourself ruined what had been our only fiscally-conservative major party and turned it into the "let's not think" God Party.

Ah, you're a pantheist. How do you keep track of all those thousands of "gods"? Oh yes, you're an adult!

=========

That would be a pantheon you're referring to - like the Judeo Christian multi-god setup of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (whatever that is...)

You have an odd definition of pantheism. I simply believe that all which exists is part of "god", collectively.

What's your excuse for sticking with a fairy tale you should have grown out of???

I,m not the one who believes in fairy tales, such as Harry Potter.
And I'm not the one who's brainwashed by excuses for homosexuality and abortion!
Thus I'm excused from embarrassment!

You're not an atheist? Oh, well which god do you believe in then?
The god who brought your momma a box with you in it?
==============

I'm a pantheist.

And no, I wasn't created. I was born through a well-known biological process.

Again, I don't feel the need to believe in your "God" when as an adult I also no longer believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, nor the Tooth Fairy. What's your excuse?

Nothing wrong with abortion nor homosexuality.

You compare apples to oranges.

I am a libertarian, and actually stand for the FREEDOMS and LIBERTIES you would deny those who do not break the law.

You sound like a neo-con - you claim to want a smaller government, yet want to deny personal freedoms of others.
