Good idea but, women will be using these things to punish their boyfriends and husbands for not letting them have that extra piece of cake for dessert after dinner, or for any perceived injustice.

I really don't see this thing working. How has it been tested? I could imagine that an erect *****, being inserted would become snagged, but as it quickly became flaccid, the thing would just fall off. And then the guy would be majorly pissed and take out even more aggression on his victim. Best deterrent (as I tell my wife): hug her assailant close, and bite the nose clean off his face. That will pretty much take the fight out of anyone.
I have mixed thoughts about this, including the fact that it makes rape prevention the woman's responsibility. I could write a lot, but I'll stop there.

And they censor the part of the male anatomy that was written in the article itself.. but then allow the female anatomy. How inconsistent in what's considered profane!

how dare you! I hope no female in your family is ever raped, you obviously don't have any idea that this is a crime of violence, not of sexual need! I am a rape survivor and I didn't cause my rape. A man with a knife held it to my throat. I wasn't dressed provacatively, in a bad situation, or acting like I wanted to be attacked. You need to get educated on what RAPE is.

I don't agree with walking down a dark ally by yourself, drunk, fresh from a night of drinking and dancing but many people who were part of this tragic crime weren't "asking for it" as you have assumed. But even if you don't drive yourself, dress fully covering every inch of skin and make it known that you want nothing to do with someone sexually. That doesn't give a man a right to take it. I would guess your speaking from experience...felt tempted? turned down? maybe have some entitlement issues. ??? what you may not know is that there are gangs of men who rove the streets in South Africa looking to rape women. This is a well-documented cultural phenomenon having to do with masculinity in South Africa. (the article probably could have clarified that) 50% of women who get AIDS in South Africa get it from being gang raped. Do some research before you make such a disgusting comment.

How about instead of inventing all of these horrific devices, would-be rapists just stop putting themselves in a position where people like me are pushed to tail them to a convenient location (like a stop light at night) and put a couple of 9mm slugs into their skulls on behalf of their daughters/sisters/other? Duh. Many rapists make very bad decisions in choice of entertainment, drinking habits and location.
