Dave, Come to Kalamazoo, MI. I work at Western Michigan University. Maybe our College of Aviation can help you get home. If interested let me know and I can get a hold of them to make a connection. If not, good luck and I hope you get home tommorrow on time.
If anyone thinks this is a personal attack against Dave, it is not meant to be. It is a complaint against CBS News for failing to consider the insensitivity towards the conditions of homelessness. Dave of course, has his own conscience to guide him for his participation in this segment.
Good morning Dave, my family lives in Kalamazoo, MI. We own a motorcycle shop here, and we would be more than happy to find some work for you to do and give you a ride home. My husband, Robert, has never been to New York. It would be great for him to see the fall colors from his Harley. If you don't mind riding in the brisk weather we have been getting, let us know. He can even deliver you to the front of the studio on one of the custom Harley's he just finished building. Bet you'd get more than your share of "biker babes" with this one. Stay safe, and look forward to tomorrow's update on where you are. P. Brewster
I think its appalling to blame a weather man who is showing the the way it is for the 3.5 million homelessness people in America . Thanks to Dave for making us aware of the 3.5 million homelessness. Now,how can we change this?
Really? Dave is showing us what the conditions of the homeless are? They have the ability to at any given moment say, ok time to go back to my high paying job in my high rise office building in Manhattan? They have a blackberry and 24/7 communication with a staff? People that are homeless have corporate sponsors? CBS could change this by making this a learning experience for America instead of making this a light fluff piece that perpetuates stereotypes about our nation's population of homeless.
I am in the School of Social Work at UW-Madison. I and many others here find it appalling that your early morning ?newscast? is airing a segment making light of a person with limited resources that is stranded somewhere in the US. Has it not occurred to even one of your staff that this is the condition that at least 3.5 million people in America live with everyday? It is a condition called homelessness. Not only is this segment highly offensive, your early morning newscast then has the hypocrisy to belittle David Letterman for making light of his situation. I know you will not have the journalistic integrity to air this complaint, but at least have the integrity to apologize for being insensitive to the plight of the homeless.
It looks to me like Dave has it to easy,I mean an airplane ? I think everyone should make sure he's working his way home. Now I have a 68 yr old tractor and a small 2 wheel triler that maybe just as old, even though I only grease this trailer once every 15 yrs ,I hink it might haul Dave about 20 miles or however far he can stand to ride in this trailer.I think if he would do this,it would show the world that he is serious about his adventure
Hey Dave! We live in Phoenix and would be delighted if you would stay with us if you need to rest up and get some food. We will provide you with some fantastic food, a comfortable bed, a pool if you want a swim, a shower, and we will even take you out for a round of golf or some other activity if you need to have some fun. To top it all off we can provide a ride for you after your rest stop at our house. Just let us know and we would be more than happy to accommodate you and help you get back to New York!! Good luck!!!
Hey Dave!!
I know Michigan may be a little out of the way, but it's worth it! You could stay in my cabin with a few friends and have a great campfire and some cowboy steaks on the red hot oak coals. You could help chop a little of that oak to earn your keep!!If interested just reply. I will give you a ride from there to.....the Ohio turnpike or whereever!

Hey Dave, If you make it to the "Mile Hi" city (or even the CO border), I'll come pick you up (in my BMW Z3 convertible, the better to see the beautiful fall colors :), put you up (in your own, private, entire level of my home, with a 56" HDTV, surround sound, kitchen, study, bath & bedroom), and even take you to dinner at Top Chef Hosea Rosenberg's Jax Fish House, all expenses paid! (Plus my husband used to be the weather anchor for the CBS affiliate here :) And I'll even go rollerblading with you! (Boulder's got miles of trails and GREAT weather.)
