"We the people" demand that the government stop stealing our rights and violating the Constitution. This healthcare proposal will give "Big Brother" an all intrusive eye into every area of a persons life. It will "break the bank" and not work. Obama-Care must be denied before they deny care to any American based on their political perspective (hidden behind some phrase like "determine who qualifies for "affordability credits"). This is Socialism at its worst and it is wrong on all terms. Absolutely no healthcare program should even be considered unless all politicians and government employees are required to join and use the program for two or three years before they try to put it on "We the people." The politicians all stink. Vote them into retirement in 2010 and 2012. Dump Obama Care NOW!

Um...90% of people have health insurance. 85% of those are satisfied with the coverage they receive. THAT represents the vast majority of Americans. If you entrust the American people would overwhelmingly support this legislation then why not put it to a national referendum? The Dems won't do it becasue they know that they lose by a margin so wide that make Obama's "wide margin" blush. I predict your side would be on the losing side of a 65-35 vote tally. No, acutally, the information is to see if you qualify for assistance in paying the premiums on your health care insurance. And if you do qualify, for how much assistance. The part that is annoying is that there is essentially an "outreach" program as part of the "package". In this part of the healthcare reform act your IRS data will be checked to see if you qualify for the payment assistance & then cross checked with those who are receiving assistance. If you are not receiving payment assistance and qualify you will be, in an as yet undertimned fashion, be notified that you do qualify & should apply for assistance. The IRS data/information will also be checked if you do apply for payment assistance to verify that you qualify. What this apparently means is that the office of the new "health care czar" will be checking ALL income tax returns to see if you qualify for premium payment assistance. The "health care czars'" office will also probably be checking all business returns to find out how big a fine, Oops, contribution that your employer will make if you turn down the employer provided insurance & find your own insurance on the "exchange". Yes, if you turn down your co's ins & find other, "approved", ins on your own the co. will be forced to "contribute" 8% of the average wages paid by your co. for each employee who doesn't take the co. provided ins. Not counting management.

It was 52% popular vote to Obama - not by a 6% margin. That means 48% voted against Obama.
And if you are honest, of the 52% who voted "for" Obama, many were simply voting "against" Bush (even though it was McCain on the ticket)
The popular vote in 2008 went 53% Obama to 46% McCain (the other 1% was Other) -- among approximately 56% of voting age Americans.
But, thanks to our beloved Constitution -- these are the numbers that counted:
365 to 173
... So, say all you want, yell, post on websites, go to marches and town halls -- exercise your rights as Americans -- Yes!
But be certain -- all the polls and all sorts of numbers you might want to dig up don't mean anything... again, thanks to our beloved Constitution... we have the Electoral College.
Hey Velma, were you saying the same things back in 2000? Just wondering.
And if you love the Constitution so much, perhaps you can tell us where it says that health care is a "right" and that Congress has the power to force everyone to participate in some health care plan.
If the Dems truly want Health care reform they can get it easily. The repubs will cooperate. But they have to give up the idea that government will CONTROL. Its about freedom, not control. there words about freedom to choose are obviously a lie. They even want to see your financial data to make sure you are CHOOSING to BUY the right thing. I think it is unconstitutional for my government to force me to buy anything. But, again, the Dems want CONTROL.
The current administration plans to give you Change You MUST Believe in. They are well on their way. Our only hope is to vote them out in 2010 and finish the job in 2012. Then we can undo the damage they have done undoing the damage Bush did. I just hope our once great nation can endure long enough.
Yes anyone can leave and many have and many more on a daily basis, and if things continue i think you'll see many more leave. I know several people who have sold everything and moved to Central America because they want freedom from over controlling government. A majority??????? latest poll has Obama's approval somewhere right around 50% (given the statistical margin of error, I'd hardly call that majority. His disapproval ratings and trust ratings are rising everyday. His approval rating is the lowest of any President at this point in the presidency over the last 30-40 years. (Even W's and Carter's were higher)Anyone who continues to believe this President has the vast majority's approval is either ignorant, doesn't care about facts, living under a rock or simply disingenuous (sp?)!
Incorrect, Rightbehind - the numbers show that over half of the population disapproves of this bill and Obama's job performance in general. Get your "facts" straight before you start spreading your liberal talking points. Liberals are always armed with what Pelosi tells them instead of actual facts.
You need to drop the "right" from your name, cause you are not..but, the rest sure fits.
Your polling data is incorrect. I am guessing you are quoting omnly the Rasmussen data on job approval ... and on legislation approval, it is a mixed bag -- with both those on the far right and the far left annoyed on a daily basis (that'll change...)
But since I know it makes you happy, go ahead and think what you want.
Meanwhile, the quiet and certain keep moving forward...
Rasmussen isn't the only poll which shows Obama has problems. Gallup trends aren't looking to friendly either. And BTW, this bill give new meaning to the term "sausage factory". Anyway you want to spin it- linguistically, logically, whatever...This bill makes pig tripe look good.
I actually plan on leaving, along with whatever state has the B*LLS to exert their tenth amendment rights and secede first. I'm guessing it will be Texas. Thus starts the second war of secession.
