He's lucky he's not in Texas. He would be tared and feathered and labeled a sex offender the rest of his life.

There are a couple things off about the story. Regardless of any personal pet peeves. If the man was just naked in his house and someone saw it? Enjoy the show or lesson learned to quit being nosey. However he has a roommate saying there was a conversation about his visibility, which he denies. He has one woman saying he was singing loudly and another says a loud rattle was made, and voila full monty. If all three of these things are true? Then the sanctity of home and the uptight nature of so many are really not the point. Especially if he made an effort to do something which would draw peoples attention.

No one has any business telling someone else if they can be nude in their own home. However just because it is your home, does not give a free pass for anything. Especially if you are in a foot traffic area and not a more private location. Besides ever heard of a curtain?

Seems to me the judge was pretty fair. Considering the dubious nature of his complete innocence in knowing he was visible.

You choose to live in an area with certain laws, you are expected to abide by these laws. If you want to be a nudist, there are places that you can live that this is allowed. This man was getting a kick showing people his naked body. That is not permitted in the area he lives in-he broke the law. Duh.

"Under Virginia law, the charge requires "an obscene display or exposure" and must occur in "a public place or a place where others are present."

Young argued that neither prong had been met."

But other people were present or this wouldn't be an issue. Mr. Williamson should practice common sense when running around his house naked in plain view of women and children. If you live out in the country, great, no problem. If you live in suburbia, use your head.

I like running around naked too, but I'm not going to make a show out of it.

He wasn't running around flashing people he was in his home, if people would keep their nosey selves out of others windows they wouldn't have gotten an eyefull. I totally agree with the statement that if it were him looking in windows the situation would be different!
