- Mental Health Records and the National Criminal Instant Background Check System (NICS):
It is a federal felony to lie or otherwise make false statements on a NICS. IT'S THE LAW.
According to a recent General Accounting Office study, as of 2011 23 states and the District of Columbia submitted less than 100 mental health records to NICS; 17 states submitted less than ten mental health records to NICS; and four states submitted no mental health records to NICS.
In 2010, the FBI denied 72,659 NICS checks out of a total of 14,409,616. But only 62 of these cases were actually prosecuted, and only 13 resulted in a conviction.
Vice President Joe Biden says that the government doesn't have the time or resources to prosecute those people that are caught breaking this long time federal law, so the government doesn't bother to enforce this federal law. - Guess our exulted one should go on a campaign to make shotguns illegal since that seemed to be the weapon used in this carnage! Funny how Obama was photographed shooting one of these "evil guns" recently in a shameless photo op propaganda episode.
As others have pointed out here, it is the "loony bin" candidates and hardened criminal thugs that are perpetrating all of this violence. But of course they are the last place the administration will go to to deal with this problem. It is much easier to target and discriminate against law abiding citizens. - Reply to this comment
- Why people are getting crazy? I think it is because young and old have no jobs, no money, no food but still they can buy GUNS and bullets easily. Obama should BAN all guns everywhere except in shooting ranges and forests where they can hunt any one they want.
